On Tuesday 19 September, documents were leaked that included plans for mid-generation refreshes for both the Xbox Series X and S. This included the Series X getting an entire new shape and going disc-less. The news was accidentally revealed in the FTC V. Microsoft documents. In a surprise move, AMD has launched a second range of graphics cards based on its Polaris platform. Those waiting for Vega will have to remain patient for a while longer. The new range, which comprises the RX 580, 570, 560 and the entry-level 550 has come about thanks to improvements in manufacturing which have allowed AMD to get more speed from Polaris and also lower power consumption.
