  • Samsung starts selling its own Qi2 chargers
  • Doesn’t sell any Qi2-compatible phones
  • Could mean a Qi2-compatible Galaxy S26

Samsung may have just confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S26 smartphone range is to support Qi2 wireless charging.

As spotted by 9to5Google , Samsung is now offering a Single Wireless Charger charging puck on its US website , as well as a Car Wireless Charger. Both are Qi2 MPP chargers, which means that they support the full magnetised wireless charging standard.

Why on Earth would Samsung start making and selling its own Qi2 chargers when it doesn’t have any products on its roster that could support them? Well, quite.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Qi2 confirmed?

So, is this confirmation that the Samsung Galaxy S26 range will make like the Google Pixel 10 and iPhone 17 Pro Max and add Qi2 charging support? Not necessarily.

These retail listings add the footnote that each product “Requires Qi-compatible device, Qi 2.0-certified magnetic case required for phone, and 25W power adapter (sold separately)”.

That intimates that the intended use for these chargers is with a current Samsung Galaxy S25 device wearing a Qi2-compatible case. Samsung makes and sells such an accessory itself.

Even so, it makes you think. If Samsung is now in the business of making Qi2 chargers – one of which costs a not-insignificant $84.99 (about £63) – then it would seem strange if it didn’t implement the technology into its next generation of flagship phones.

We might just be reaching here. But the Google secured an easy win and plenty of positive press by implementing the wireless charging standard in its own recent phones. Samsung must surely have taken note.

With reports that its line-up will be a little less exciting than initially expected, Samsung will want all the signs of progress that it can muster.
