Made by Google ’25: In summary

  • The next Made by Google event will take place at 1pm ET/6pm BST on August 20 in New York City.
  • Pixel 10 phones are confirmed to launch during the event, with other devices including the Pixel Watch 4 likely.
  • A live stream of the Google Pixel keynote is available on this page, along with our live blog for real-time opinion and analysis of the new Pixel devices.

While many of the big phone launches for 2025 are now done and dusted, the best is yet to come: for Apple users, the iPhone 17 is pegged for a September launch, while the annual Google Pixel hardware event is arguably the biggest launch event in the Android calendar.

We already know we’ll see the new Google Pixel 10 series smartphones get announced at the Made by Google event, but we suspect there’s a lot more in store for Pixel fans. Here’s everything you need to know, including the Pixel 10 announcement date, start time, live stream, live blog, and what to expect.

And that’s a wrap! Gotta say, I’ve never seen a launch event quite like that. Google has gone big for the 10th generation of Pixel phones.

Remember, all our launch coverage is live now. Just head to our dedicated Pixel Event Guide page to start reading.

Here we go! The event concludes with the Jonas Brothers debuting the video for their new song “I Can’t Lose”, which was shot exclusively on the Pixel 10 Pro.

Is the iPhone still king for smartphone video? The Pixel might have caught up!

NBA star Steph Curry is Google’s new ‘Performance Advisor’, which means he’ll be providing feedback for Health, Pixel and Cloud products. It’s quite a coup.

Okay, the mention of soccer has slightly triggered me slightly, not gonna lie. Yes, I’m British and overly protective of our national sport, football !

I’ll be honest, I don’t know what’s going on right now…

But is the Pixel Watch 4’s heart rate accuracy really on par with a chest strap? I’d like to see evidence for that.

The YouTube algorithm worked its magic on me a few months ago, and I’ve been enjoying plenty of great (and unhinged) SubwayTakes ever since. Cool to see Kareem on the stage!

This voice translate feature is the real deal. Not only does it translate what you’re saying in real time, but it also makes the voice and tone of the speaker! Impressive.

Okay, now the Jonas Brothers are filming a video on the Pixel 10.

But Google isn’t showing us the final result until later! What a tease.

Ooh, Google is comparing the Pixel 10 to the iPhone 16 Pro Max directly! It makes a change from the ‘Phone X’ we often see in keynotes.

I’m very much an amateur photographer, but I’m glad Google is also focusing on professionals. Andre D. Wagner can take great photos even without editing, as the samples on the screen are showing.

“Close your legs!” is something I didn’t expect to hear during this keynote.

Alex Cooper is gonna show us how to do some AI edits. And now, you can just ask Google to edit photos for you – no need to dive into Settings. It works pretty well, but what even is a photo these days.

Wow, Jimmy has left Rick on read for nearly four and a half hours.

Steph Curry, Lando Norris and Alex Cooper get it even worse – more than 3 days!

Joking aside, I’m really excited to try Magic Cue on the Pixel 10. I think it could be a big moment for AI on phones .

Google is also making switching easier, allowing you to simply plug your old device into your new one.

As someone who switches phones on a monthly basis, it’s music to my ears, but I think WhatsApp will continue to be a pain.

Google is rattling through these new products! No sooner has the Pixel Watch 4 been showcased, but we’re already onto the updated Pixel Buds Pro 2.

The Pixel Buds 2a also get a mention.

Jimmy looks like a kid on Christmas morning! I can see why tbh – I think Google might’ve nailed it with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. And IP68 water and dust resistance is a game-changer for book-style foldables.

“It’s 5pm somewhere!” says Adrienne. West Africa at the moment, I think.

Adrienne Loften is now on stage with. She’s Google’s Global Vice President of Product & Integrated Consumer Marketing. That’s quite a title.

So, F1’s Lando Norris and NBA’s Giannis Antetokounmpo are using Gemini to swap sports. I’ll let you know when they start talking about the phones.

Oh my god, they’ve turned Rick’s dog into an AI video! It’s made using Google Veo, if you’re interested.

Ok, so Google can’t figure out when Jimmy is hungry and order a pizza, but it can plan a full team celebration. I’ll take that.

I’ll be honest, it feels like I’m watching a late-night chat show so far. Though the setup is a little more cosy than The Tonight Show.

Sorry, there’s a cat on the roof outside my house that’s distracting me. If I take a photo of it with a Pixel phone, it still counts, right?

Jimmy Fallon is on stage! And now he’s joined by Rick Osterloh, Senior VP of Devices & Services at Google.

And don’t worry, Gemini and AI have already both been mentioned…

And we’re underway! Made by Google ’25 is go!

If you’re one of the 27k+ people who have already tuned into the YouTube live stream, you’ll be enjoying a montage that cycles between the phones and a range of AI-generated clips.

Made by Google ’25: What to Expect

Google Pixel 10

Pixel 10 with Pixel Watch 4 and new Pixel Buds - 6

Evan Blass

The new family of flagship phones is a given for the launch event and the Pixel 10 phones will almost certainly consist of four devices:

  • Pixel 10
  • Pixel 10 Pro
  • Pixel 10 Pro XL
  • Pixel 10 Pro Fold

Pricing is expected to remain the same as last year, but a number of upgrades are expected, including a new Tensor G5 processor for the entire range. Here are the other key upgrades and changes we’re expecting:

  • Pixel 10 gets a telephoto camera
  • Pixel Pro XL starts at 256GB
  • Pixel 10 Pro Fold to get IP68 rating and 1TB storage option
  • Built-in Qi2 charging
  • Larger batteries
  • Brighter screens

We already know that Google is keeping the same design as last year, just with some minor tweaks here and there. Primarily, the selection of colourways is getting a bigger shakeup than normal.

There’s a new Moonstone colour for the entire Pro range as well as a Jade model (the Fold doesn’t come in black and white this time). Meanwhile, the regular Pixel appears to be dropping Porcelain and gaining Frost, Indigo, and Limoncello.

Google Pixel 10 Pro colours - 7

Android Headlines

We’ve ranked all the rumoured Pixel 10 colours, from “queasy” to “arboreal” .

While not much has been left to the imagination, there are still 5 things we still don’t know about the Pixel 10 series .

Pixelsnap

Pixel 10 with Pixelsnap charger - 8

Evan Blass

Before I continue on to more devices, it’s worth talking about accessories quickly – they’re actually exciting.

Listed above is ‘built-in Qi2 charging’ and this is a big deal as it’s not just traditional wireless charging. Instead, Pixelsnap involves magnets built into the phone so you can easily attach chargers and other accessories.

Although the iPhones have had MagSafe for a while, the tech has been missing from Android phones, apart from a lone model from HMD. However, it seems that the Pixel 10 series will be the first big-name devices to support it without needing a case.

There’s only one leaked image of it so far, showing a simple charging puck, but Google is expected to unveil a selection of different accessories under the ‘Pixelsnap’ branding and no doubt there will be offerings from third-party makers as well.

Google Pixel Watch 4

Pixel Watch 4 in Moonstone and Silver both sizes - 9

Evan Blass

Following its usual annual refresh cycle, a new generation of the Pixel Watch is very likely to arrive with the phones. With plenty of leaked details and images, there may not be much left to surprose us with.

Pixel Watch 4 is expected to come in the same 41- and 45mm sizes as its predecessor, with the following changes:

  • Brighter screen
  • Longer battery life
  • Repairable design
  • New charging system
  • New Moonstone colour

Google will no doubt have more to say about the Pixel Watch 4 as we learn about what its Wear OS 6 software with built-in Gemini can do – presumably lots of health and fitness smarts.

Google Pixel Watch 4 new wireless charger - 10

Android Headlines

A quick note on the rumoured new charging system, though, as it is both good and bad news. The charging is on the side now (partly to make the watch repairable) and is reportedly 25% faster, but still needs a proprietary dock, meaning those hoping for proper Qi wireless charging will be disappointed.

New Google Pixel Buds

google pixel buds 2a iris - 11

Android Headlines

Audio fans will be pleased to hear that Google is expected to launch two new pairs of Pixel Buds at the Pixel 10 event.

The first has been a long time coming, as the original Pixel Buds A launched way back in 2021, and it seems like we’re finally getting treated to the Pixel Buds 2a.

They appear to have an improved design and are tipped to come with longer battery life and better sound. You’d expect as much after four years and we also hope Google adds active noise cancelling.

An Iris colourway is shown here, but the Buds 2a are also rumoured to come in Hazel, Strawberry and Fog Light.

Pixel Buds Pro 2 in Moonstone - 12

Evan Blass

Other leaked renders have been widely shared, showing a Moonstone hue to match the Pixel 10 phones. While they look cool, these aren’t a new model but a new colourway of the Pixel Buds Pro 2.

Check out the 7 devices we’re expecting at Google’s Pixel 10 launch, and 3 we’re not , and our Google Pixel 2025 Event Guide .

When is the next Google Pixel launch?

After moving the event from October to August last year for the Pixel 9 series, Google is sticking to this new launch timing for 2025. The Made by Google ’25 keynote is on August 20. It will take place in New York at 1pm ET / 6pm BST.

How can I watch the Pixel 10 launch event?

The Made by Google ’25 keynote will be live streamed on Google. It is also available at the top of this page.

When does Google usually hold events?

There are two times on the calendar when Google usually has its launch events. The first is around May/June, when the company holds its annual Google I/O developer conference.

This usually has a focus on software, with Google showing off what will be coming for Android, Wear OS and Gemini, but it also has been when hardware has been announced in the past, including Pixel A-series phones and the Pixel Tablet .

Google I/O is totally software-focused these days, which leaves the firm’s other launch event, called ‘Made by Google’, as the hardware bonanza. It used to come around every October, but Google changed this in 2024 to August for the Pixel 9 series, where it also announced the Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Buds Pro 2.

What will Google announce at its next event?

Google has confirmed that it will use the Made by Google ’25 event to announce its Pixel 10 phones. It is also expected to launch the Pixelsnap charging accessory – in essence, its answer to MagSafe. The new Google Pixel Watch 4 and Google Pixel Buds could also make an appearance.
