The long-awaited Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga has finally landed in cinemas. George Miller’s post-apocalyptic tale allows fans to return to a nuclear wasteland gripped by madness, where cynical warlords rule and vicious gangs rage.
When Mad Max: Fury Road was released in 2015, it turned out to be one of the best comebacks of a cult franchise ever. The series director, George Miller, returned to his post-apocalyptic world after a long hiatus armed with a handful of crazy ideas and created a spectacle that achieved mass success.
Although some had severe doubts about casting Tom Hardy as Max Rockatansky, the actor proved to be a worthy successor to Mel Gibson. Viewers also took notice of a new character, Imperator Furiosa, passionately played by Charlize Theron.
Now, George Miller again takes us into the heart of the apocalypse. This time, our guide through the insane desert world is a Furiosa 20 years younger, portrayed by none other than Anya Taylor-Joy.
The first critic reviews and audience reviews are in, and Furiosa is a certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes , with some impressively high scores.

Furiosa plot
In Mad Max: Fury Road, Furiosa was the right hand of Immortan Joe, a warlord controlling water reservoirs. However, the warrior betrayed the leader and, along with his wives and Max, set off on a journey through the desert. The fugitives were heading towards the oasis called the Green Place of Many Mothers, from which Furiosa was abducted as a child.
The action of George Miller’s new film takes place 45 years after the fall of civilisation and decades before the events of Fury Road. The plot spans 15 years of Furiosa’s life.
