In summary
- Galaxy S26 Edge appears on benchmark test
- Confirms Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 and 12GB RAM
- Best scores we’ve seen
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge smartphone has cropped up in a popular benchmark test, revealing its next-gen processor into the bargain.
As spotted by leaker Abhishek Yadav, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge (code number SM-S947U) has made an appearance on the Geekbench 6 benchmarking tool.
The test serves to confirm that Samsung’s second-generation skinny flagship – or at least the US version – will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip.
We also learn that this will be backed by 12GB of RAM, and that the phone is running on Android 16. All fairly uncontroversial stuff, if much be said.
The preliminary scores for this next-gen flagship phone are better than anything we’ve seen before in a smartphone – and by quite a margin.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge benchmark scores
The new phone attained a single-core score of 3393 and a multi-core score of 11515. By way of a contrast, we clocked the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge with its Snapdragon 8 Elite as scoring around 3000 single and 9338 multi.
That’s about 13% and 23% faster from the Galaxy S26 Edge respectively.
The iPhone 16 Pro Max , with its custom A18 Pro chip, scores around the same on single-core performance, which represents quite an achievement on Qualcomm’s part. Apple phones have infamously spectacular single-core performance.

Apple’s flagship phone is thoroughly trounced in multi-core terms, however, scoring a mere 8378 in our testing.
Of course, by the time the Galaxy S26 Edge is available to buy, the iPhone 17 Pro Max will be here with its new and improved vapour chamber-bolstered A19 Pro chip. We could also have a not-quite-as-fast iPhone 17 Air present as a super-skinny competitor.
Whatever the state of play at launch, the next Android generation is looking set to be extremely fast, and even the space-constrained Galaxy S26 Edge isn’t going to be left behind.
