Google has seemingly confirmed that it will hold its big Pixel 10 launch event on 20 August, and it might just have a little something extra in store for us.
The company has sent out invites to the media for its next Made by Google event, and sure enough, it’s 20 August. The date has been widely tipped for some months now, so it’s no great surprise.
The event will be held in New York City rather than Google’s hometown of Mountain View, California. It’ll kick off at 10am PT, which works out to 6pm GMT.
What to expect from Made by Google 2025
There is some interest to be found in the invite itself. While the promise of new Pixel phones, watches, and earbuds is all in line with what we’ve been hearing, the words “and more” offer some scope for surprises.
Well-sourced rumours have been swirling concerning the Google Pixel 10 range, not to mention the Pixel Watch 4 . We recently heard about the Google Pixel Buds 2a, which ticks off that earbuds box.
But what else could Google have to offer? It’s perhaps too much to expect a Pixel Tablet 2 (or would that be the Pixel Tablet 3 ?), but we’ll mention it as an outside bet.

We’ve heard reports that Google is planning its own take on Apple’s MagSafe magnetic charging standard, based on Qi2, which sounds much more likely.
Last month it was claimed that Google is working on a bespoke standard called Pixelsnap , which will include three new accessories: the Pixelsnap Charger, Pixelsnap Charger with Stand, and Pixelsnap Ring Stand.
Perhaps these accessories are the extra announcements that Google has planned.
Indeed, it could prove to be the most interesting thing about the Pixel 10 range. From leaked prototypes to early spec lists and even pricing, Google’s next flagship smartphone range is shaping up to be very similar to the Pixel 9 range before it.
It stands to reason that it would make a song and a dance about the one big new addition in Qi2 wireless charging.
