Thanks to a spectacular goal from Ollie Watkins, England managed to secure their spot in the finals of the Euros, beating the Netherlands 2-1.
After a second-place finish in 2021, and the sixth-place finish in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, expectations for Gareth Southgate’s squad are high.
This year, the action is taking place across various stadiums in Germany. Last time, England just missed out on victory against Italy, having been beaten on penalties.
Standing between England and the trophy are Spain, who have been the favourites throughout the competition. The final is certainly going to be one to remember.

What is Euro 2024?
Euro 2024, otherwise known as the UEFA European Football Championship, is the 17th instalment of the men’s football tournament that takes place every four years (except for 2020’s competition).
All UEFA member states get a chance to qualify for the event, but only 24 teams made it through to the final tournament.
Italy are the defending champions from Euro 2020, but neither they nor any of the countries in which matches are held gained automatic entry to the tournament.
Previous winners have included Spain (1964, 2008, 2012), Greece (2004), France (1984, 2000), Denmark (1992), Netherlands (1988), Germany (1972, 1980, 1996), then Czechoslovakia (1976), Italy (1968, 2020) and the Soviet Union (1960), but never England. We came third back in 1968, joint-third in 1996 and second in 2020/2021, so it’s time for England to bring it home.
When is Euro 2024 taking place?
Euro 2024 started on Friday 14 June 2024 , with 51 matches played between then and the final on Sunday 14 July 2024.

How to watch UEFA Euro 2024 from the US and abroad
If you’d like to watch both the BBC and ITV from outside of the UK, using a VPN is probably your best bet.

A VPN (or virtual private network) is software that lets you mask your IP address in order to appear as if you are somewhere you are not. So, you could be in Spain and pretend to be browsing from the UK, then access BBC or ITV services as normal.
We’ve reviewed a bunch of VPNs but our current top pick is NordVPN . Because streaming services are wise to the use of VPNs you might need to try a few different servers before you find one that works.
If you’d like to know more about the sign-up process, take a look at our guides on how to watch iPlayer abroad and how to watch ITVX abroad .
