The Honor Magic V4 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated foldable smartphones of 2025.

With significant rumours suggesting major upgrades in battery capacity, processing power, and overall user experience, the Magic V4 could be a game-changer in the foldable market.

Here’s everything we know so far about its release date, pricing, and specifications.

When will the Honor Magic V4 be released?

According to Phone Arena , the device is tipped to make its debut in July 2025 in China. This aligns with the launch timeline of its predecessor, the Magic V3 , which arrived in July last year.

For international markets, however, Honor may opt to unveil the Magic V4 at IFA 2025 in September 2025 . While no official confirmation has been provided, these predictions are based on past launch patterns and industry speculation.

As a reminder, here’s when recent generations were released:

  • Honor Magic V3 – July 2024 (China), September 2024 (Europe)
  • Honor Magic V2 – July 2022 (China), January 2023 (Europe)
  • Honor Magic Vs – November 2022 (China), February 2024 (Europe)

As usual, the device isn’t expected to be sold in the US.

How much will the Honor Magic V4 cost?

The Magic V3 launched at £1,699.99 in the UK and, given its cutting-edge hardware and foldable form factor, the Magic V4 will likely be priced in the same range.

However, with potential improvements in battery capacity, processing power, and other hardware upgrades, a slight price increase cannot be ruled out.

If Honor manages to keep pricing competitive while improving on key features, it could strengthen its standing against upcoming foldable rivals, such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and OnePlus Open 2 .

What specs and features will the Honor Magic V4 have?

Design

The Magic V3 was celebrated as the thinnest book-style foldable on the market, at just 9.2mm when folded.

Honor will likely aim to retain this slim and lightweight design for the Magic V4, possibly making it even thinner to stay ahead of competitors.

Given that Oppo is working on an even thinner foldable with the Find N5 (likely the Chinese version of the OnePlus Open 2), Honor may push the boundaries of engineering to maintain its lead in this regard.

Materials will likely remain premium, with Honor continuing to use its ‘Super Steel’ hinge for durability.

The IPX8 water resistance rating from the Magic V3 is also expected to be carried over, though dust resistance may still be a challenge for even the best foldable phones .

Display

Honor’s foldables have boasted impressive displays, and the Magic V4 should be no exception.

It might feature a 6.43-inch LTPO OLED cover display with a 120Hz refresh rate, similar to the Magic V3.

The inner display might also remain a nearly square 7.92-inch OLED panel, capable of dynamically adjusting between 1-120Hz for better power efficiency.

Performance

According to Digital Chat Station , the Magic V4 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, the same as the current flagship Magic 7 Pro .

It’s expected to provide significant performance gains over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the Magic V3. Honor’s commitment to flagship-level performance means the device will likely feature at least 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

Cooling improvements will also be essential, as foldable devices can struggle with sustained high-performance workloads due to their compact form factor.

Cameras

The Magic V3 featured a 50Mp main sensor, a 50Mp 3.5x optical zoom telephoto lens, and a 40Mp ultrawide sensor.

While these specifications were impressive, Honor could improve upon them by introducing a larger sensor for better low-light performance or an upgraded telephoto lens with a 5x or higher optical zoom.

Selfie cameras will likely remain dual 20Mp sensors, one on the cover display and one on the inner screen, providing solid image quality for video calls and social media content.

Battery & Charging

According to Chinese leaker Smart Pikachu , Honor is testing a 6,000mAh battery for the foldable, which would be a massive leap from the 5,150mAh battery in the Magic V3.

If true, this would give Honor a serious advantage in battery endurance, addressing a common weakness of foldable devices.

Fast charging should remain a key feature, with 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging expected to carry over.

Given the increase in battery size, improved charging speeds could also be in the works.

Software

The Magic V4 is likely to launch with MagicOS 9, based on Android 15 , introducing refinements in multitasking and AI-driven features.

However, Honor has yet to confirm its long-term software support plans.
