Spitting Image is back for 2020 – poking fun at politics and current affairs with the bizarre (and slightly grotesque) puppet imitations. The show last broadcast in the 90s, so no doubt lots of fans will be keen to see a contemporary spin on the format.
However, Spitting Image isn’t available on traditional broadcast telly as it used to be. If you want to tune into the show yourself, we have everything you need to know here.
How to watch Spitting Image in the UK
Spitting Image is exclusive to Britbox, the streaming platform for content from BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 – and you’ll need an account with the streaming service to be able to watch the show. You can check out our picks of the best movies and shows on the platform this month.
If, however, you don’t want to pay for a full subscription, then there are ways to watch Spitting Image for free.
Watch Spitting Image for free with BT and Britbox
If you have BT broadband or BT TV, then you’re in luck. BT is now offering six months’ worth of Britbox for both new and existing customers – plenty enough time to watch the entire first season of Spitting Image 2020.
To claim your sixth months’ worth of Britbox for free, here’s what you need to do:
- Sign into your BT account on PC and select ‘Add BritBox to your BT package’
- Agree to the terms and conditions
- You’ll now be redirected to Britbox – sign up for an account
- Enter your details and select ‘start subscription’
If you don’t want to be charged for Britbox, be sure to make a note in your diary to cancel your subscription before your six months is up. If you’re just getting a subscription for Spitting Image, the last episode of this series is set to air on 10 December 2020, so just cancel after then.

How to watch Spitting Image in the US
Despite being on Britbox in the UK, things are a bit different in the US. According to Deadline , Spitting Image is currently only available to watch on Facebook Premiere for 24 hours after the episodes air at the time of writing.
It may be possible to watch Spitting Image on Britbox UK with the help of a VPN such as NordVPN or ExpressVPN . However, you’ll likely need a UK friend with an existing account, or UK bank details, as card information is tied to this country which makes signing up quite difficult.
