Leaked dummy units for Samsung’s next big smartphone release, the Galaxy S25 Edge, suggests that there’s something slightly off about the new design.
Korean YouTuber The Sinza has offered up a hands-on with a pair of third party dummy units, providing a revealing look at the basic design for the phone.
Unsurprisingly, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is looking incredibly skinny – just 5.84mm thick, it seems – and appealing, even in the neutral black and white colours featured here.
The new phone is held up against the 8.2mm-thick Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra , and the difference is stark.

Galaxy S25 Edge has a wonky USB-C port
One particular Galaxy S25 Edge design feature, however, might have those with an obsessive nature feeling a little fidgety.
When the YouTuber flips the dummy unit flat and shows us the underside of the phone, we see that neither the USB-C and nor SIM tray are centred on the frame. The gap to the front edge of the phone is significantly thicker than the gap to the rear.
It’s a small discrepancy, and it’s not one that’s likely to bother most people. It’s not the sort of thing we’ve come to expect of our pristine flagship phones, however.
What it does do is highlight how much of an engineering problem this new super-slim form factor is posing to manufacturers. We’ll be very interested to see if Apple has been able to squeeze all those flagship components into its iPhone 17 Air without any obvious compromise come the end of 2025.

Getting the skinny on the Galaxy S25 Edge
Last week we received further indications as to the Galaxy S25 Edge’s pricing. Apparently it will cost somewhere in between the price of the Samsung Galaxy S25+ and the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
We also heard of the Galaxy S25 Edge’s three colour options : Titanium Icyblue, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Jetblack. This provided an early tip that the phone’s frame was going to be made of a titanium alloy rather than the aluminium and ceramic build that was previously rumoured.
When you see how skinny this phone is shaping up to be, the use of titanium makes perfect sense. None of us wants a repeat of 2014’s ‘Bendgate’ controversy, when iPhone 6 units started physically deforming under relatively mild pocket pressure.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to launch in April, so we don’t have long to wait get some proper hands-on time with one of the more exciting phones of 2025.
