In 2023, a comedic horror about an AI doll resembling a young girl became a viral hit. After three years, M3GAN has returned to the cinema – just as wide-eyed and bloodthirsty as before.
In the new instalment of the series, the doll gets a second chance to prove that she’s a trustworthy caregiver, as she was designed to be. When the technology used to build M3GAN is stolen, AMELIA, a humanoid military robot, is brought to life. Self-aware and dangerous, she sets off to kill a certain billionaire. The only one who can stop her is M3GAN, now trapped by scientist Gemma (Allison Williams) in a small robotic doll. After receiving an upgraded body, the android is ready to confront AMELIA.

When will M3GAN 2.0 be released on VOD?
M3GAN was launched on VOD exceptionally quickly, just 18 days after its theatrical release. Although the first flick about a psycho-doll was a massive hit, the follow-up is a box office disappointment. At the opening weekend, the movie grossed only $17 million worldwide, which is below the predicted numbers. By rushing the M3GAN 2.0 VOD release, Universal may be looking to recoup its financial losses.

Physical copies of M3GAN 2.0 will arrive in the US stores on Tuesday, 23 September 2025.
When could M3GAN 2.0 be released on streaming services?
In the US, movies distributed by Universal Pictures, first arrive on Peacock. Based on previous releases, M3GAN 2.0 may become available for streaming approximately one to two months after the DVD premiere.
While it’s hard to predict the exact date, the Peacock release is likely to occur in late autumn or early winter. M3GAN 2.0 would be a perfect film for Halloween viewing, so it may hit streaming shortly before Friday, 31 October 2025 .
Other good opportunities to release a film for streaming are American Thanksgiving and Christmas. In that case, M3GAN 2.0 may drop on Peacock around Thursday, 27 November 2025 or Thursday, 25 December 2025.
After spending four months on Peacock, M3GAN 2.0 will move to Netflix, where, according to the deal between the corporations, the movie will spend ten months. After that time, the horror will return to Peacock again.
In the United Kingdom, M3GAN 2.0 will most likely be available on Now, however, there’s no word on when it may happen.
