- Images of Motorola Edge 70 Ultra emerge
- Two colours and an apparent material finish
- Other spec claims recently made
After stepping out of the flagship smartphone war for a spell, Motorola looks set to rejoin with the Edge 70 Ultra.
We haven’t seen a new flagship Ultra phone (or one that doesn’t bend in half , at least) since the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra in May of 2024. The lack of a Motorola Edge 60 Ultra was reliably tipped back in June.
Back then, we were told that Motorola would be returning to the flagship game pretty swiftly in 2026, and now we have some more solid details about that phone.

Motorola Edge 70 Ultra images
Android Headlines has posted images of the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra in two smart colours – one in dark blue, the other a rich olive-green.
The latter is similar to the shade of the Motorola Edge 70 that we reviewed recently. Indeed, there appears to be a coarse material finish to both variants, though it looks a little different to the Edge 70 (pictured below).

Motorola Edge 70 Ultra specs
Aside from this leaked image, there have been some specifications claims floating around for the device.
The ever-reliable Evan Blass recently posted that the Edge 70 Ultra would run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip. That’s the chip that Qualcomm is launching with the OnePlus 15R, which gives an indication that Motorola is still intent on undercutting the traditional flagship crowd.
We’ve also heard that this capable chip is going to backed by a generous 16GB of RAM. This thing is going to be a strong performer, even if it doesn’t top any charts.
Earlier in November, leaker Anvin claimed that the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra would pack a 1.5K OLED display, a periscope telephoto camera, and a slim and lightweight design.
All of which could be said of the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, it must be said.
Still, I’m glad to see confirmation of a follow-up to that phone. I reviewed the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra last year, and called it “a competitive flagship phone with a stellar design, strong camera, rapid charging, and beautifully clean software”.
