Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe concluded this summer. We’re now in Phase Six, which (so far) covers from summer 2025 to 2027, and will be the conclusion of what Marvel has dubbed the ‘Multiverse Saga’.

These films and series have gone through several date changes and title alterations, but the biggest shake-up came during Marvel’s Hall H panel at Comic-Con San Diego 2024. The fifth Avengers film, The Kang Dynasty, has been completely wiped from Marvel’s schedule.

This has now been replaced with Avengers: Doomsday , with Robert Downey Jr. returning to the MCU… but not as Tony Stark.

If you want to know what films are on the cards and when they will be released, we have a guide below. You can also check out a similar article for Phase Five .

The Fantastic Four: First Steps

Out now

Starring: Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm), Ralph Ineson (Galactus) , Julia Garner (Shalla-Bal)

This MCU adaptation of the Fantastic Four takes place in the swinging sixties, with a retrofuturistic twist. We’re also not in the sacred timeline; we’re in Earth-828.

In this universe, the four heroes are well established and beloved by the world. However, when the Silver Surfer delivers a threat from Galactus, the team must take on their biggest challenge yet.

While The Fantastic Four aren’t in Earth-616, this is The Multiverse Saga. The group are expected to cross between worlds in a later film.

Eyes of Wakanda

Disney+ release date: 1 August 2025

Starring : Winnie Harlow, Cress Williams, Patricia Belcher, Larry Herron, Adam Gold, Lynn Whitfield, Jacques Colimon, Jona Xiao, Isaac Robinson-Smith, Gary Anthony Williams, Zeke Alton, Steve Toussaint and Anika Noni Rose

This four-episode animated series follows four warriors from the nation of Wakanda, known as the Hatut Zaraze. The stories are dotted throughout history, as they retrieve vibranium artefacts that have been stolen.

Marvel Zombies

Disney+ release date: 3 October 2025

Starring: Awkwafina (Katy), David Harbour (Alexei Shostakov / Red Guardian), Simi Liu (Shang-Chi), Elizabeth Olson (Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch), Randall Park (Jimmy Woo), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), Hailee Steinfeld (Kate Bishop), Dominique Thorne (Riri Williams/Ironheart), Iman Vellani (Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel)

Marvel Zombies will be another multiverse project, so it isn’t integral viewing for the MCU canon. However, the release date being so close to Halloween makes it a great horror animation for the season. As the title may clue you in, this show follows what would happen if some of our favourite heroes were turned into the undead.

Wonder Man

Disney+ release date: December 2025

Starring: Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Simon Williams)

Disney is getting quite meta with its next live-action MCU miniseries, which is about an actor called Simon Williams who is taking on the role of Wonder Man, a fictional character in Earth-616.

The actor even showed up in character for the Fantastic Four premiere, discussing Trevor Slattery, Ben Kingsley’s character, who plays a fictionalised version of the Mandarin, before he was pulled away by his PR contact.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2

Marvel 2024 / Giovanni Rufino

Disney+ release date: March 2026

Starring: Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil), Vincent D’Onofrio (Wilson Fisk/Kingpin), Margarita Levieva (Heather Glenn), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Ayelet Zurer (Vanessa Fisk), Jon Bernthal (Frank Castle/Punisher), Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones)

At the end of Born Again season 1, Fisk ruled New York with an iron fist. With vigilantes being persecuted by the mayor’s task force, Matt must step up and take a stand.

Excitingly, that also means teaming up with a former Defender – Jessica Jones – to take down the Kingpin. There will also be a Punisher one-shot that will tie into this series, as Frank Castle escaped Fisk’s personal prison at the end of season 1. Castle will actually play a major part in another Phase 6 project…

Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Spider-Man - Tom Holland - 2

Marvel Studios

Cinema release date: 31 July 2026

Starring: Tom Holland (Peter Parker), Jon Bernthal (Punisher), Zendaya (MJ), Jacob Batalon (Ned), Sadie Sink

There’s little known about the fourth Spider-Man film, but Tom Holland has thus far not been confirmed to star in Avengers: Doomsday. Considering the events of No Way Home, many fans expect this film to return to ‘street-level’ crime, especially now that Jon Bernthal has been cast as Punisher.

This new addition has also fueled suspicion that the film may tie into Daredevil: Born Again , considering Kingpin is originally a spidey villain in the comics.

Avengers: Doomsday

Cinema release date: 18 December 2026

Starring: Robert Downey Jr (Doctor Doom), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards), Vanessa Kirby (Susan Storm), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes), Anthony Mackie (Captain America)

Marvel fan-favourite Robert Downey Jr is returning to the MCU, but not as Iron Man. Instead, he’ll play the iconic villain, Doctor Doom.

Following the post-credits scene of The Fantastic Four: First Steps , Doom is expected to take an interest in Franklin Richards and cross over to Earth-616. Having Tony Stark’s face is an interesting choice, and it may be something that Doom can use to his advantage.

He’ll be joined by an absolutely stacked cast that you can find above, including actors from the previous X-Men films such as Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto) and Kelsey Grammar (Beast).

Directors Joe and Anthony Russo will return to helm the new film.

Avengers: Secret Wars

avengers secret wars - 3

Disney

Cinema release date: 7 December 2027

Starring: TBA

Little is known thus far about the sixth Avengers film, but if it follows the source material, it will be about the collapse of the multiverse as we know it. Downey’s Doctor Doom is heavily rumoured to continue to be the villain once again, continuing his arc set up in Doomsday.

What other Marvel projects are in the works?

There are several other Marvel films and shows that we know are on the way, but have not yet been given specific release dates.

Here are the movies and shows we know about so far:

  • Vision : Disney+ release date: TBC
  • Armor Wars : Disney+ release date: TBC
  • Untitled Shang-Chi sequel : Cinema release date: TBC
  • Untitled X-Men movie: Cinema release date TBC

We also know that Doctor Strange and Thor will be returning in some capacity, and there are also rumours about a project involving a new character called Nova.

Disney will likely confirm more release dates in the coming months, and we will update this article accordingly.
