For 29 years, super spy Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) has been fighting schemes to destroy the world. Fortunately, his struggles are coming to an end, as Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning premiered in May. And now, after a long wait, the film is available to rent and buy at home.

The first instalment of the Mission: Impossible franchise was created in 1996 by Brian De Palma as a reboot of the 1966 TV series of the same name and its 1988 sequel series. Although De Palma didn’t direct any of the following flicks, and the franchise drifted from its initial vibe, Mission: Impossible remains one of the most successful cinematic series ever.

The eighth and, most likely, the last instalment of the series, The Final Reckoning , hit cinemas in spring 2025. In addition to Tom Cruise, the film features Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, Ving Rhame, Nick Offerman, Hannah Waddingham and… Tramell Tillman, known for his portrayal of ominous Mr. Milcheck in Severance . Viewers can also expect a tangled espionage plot and extraordinary stunts for which the series is famous.

How to watch Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning on VOD

Just like the previous instalment of the series, The Final Reckoning isn’t a complete flop, but can’t be called a smashing hit either. With an estimated budget of $300-400 million, the film earned only $589 million worldwide, which is not enough to break even. However, Paramount didn’t rush its VOD premiere, giving the movie a chance to earn as much as it could in theatres. The latest Mission: Impossible film became available for rental and purchase 88 days after opening in cinemas.

When will Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning be released on DVD/Blu-ray?

However, there is still no information on when the film might be released on DVD and Blu-ray in the States. We estimate that it may arrive in stores around the same date as in the UK.

When could Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning be released on streaming services?

Dead Reckoning arrived on streaming in the US last, 86 days after its DVD release. However, most Paramount films are released much sooner. A Quiet Place: Day One and Gladiator 2 appeared on the platform just 28 days after their release on VOD. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem took 18 days to make that journey, and Smile 2 took just two weeks.

Therefore, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning may arrive on Paramount+ at the end of October 2025 at the earliest. However, the streaming premiere may slip even to late 2025/early 2026.

Keep in mind that these are our predictions, and Paramount hasn’t yet provided any information on the subject.
