Full spec details for the Motorola Moto G86 and Moto G56 budget smartphones have leaked online, and one particular shared spec promises to beat Samsung’s A-series.
Uber-tipster Evan Blass (aka @Evleaks) has posted official-looking spec sheets for a pair of forthcoming Motorola phones.
These are follow-ups to the affordable Moto G85 (which we liked) and the Moto G55 (which we thought was merely decent).
Motorola Moto G86 specs
Let’s start with the more capable phone of the two, the Moto G86.
According to this spec sheet , which is almost certainly the genuine article, the phone will feature a 6.67-inch OLED display with a 1.5K (2712 x 1220) resolution and a 4500 nits peak brightness.
That looks to be a considerable advance on the Moto G85 with its FHD+ (2400 x 1080) resolution and 1600 nits peak brightness.
Two years of OS upgrades and four of security updates isn’t great, but is better than the Moto G85’s one and three years respectively.

@Evleaks
Power will be provided by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300, similar to last year’s Moto Razr 50 , the Poco X7 , and the Nothing CMF Phone 1 . There’ll be 8 or 12GB of RAM.
A 5200mAh battery is larger than its 5000mAh predecessor, and it looks as if some regions will be getting a model with a whopping great 6720mAh cell. There’s the same 33W wired charging support.
Motorola has been going all in on build quality with its cheaper phones of late, and that continues here with both IP68/IP69 and MIL-STD 810H certification. You won’t find that on the Galaxy A36, the Galaxy A56 , nor indeed the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra .
The camera system looks pretty much identical to the Moto G85, with a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 sensor (with OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 32MP selfie cam.
Motorola Moto G56 specs
The lesser Moto G56 looks to be a similarly solid update on the Moto G55.
This spec sheet suggests that it’ll pack a 6.72-inch FHD+ LCD, which is larger than the G55’s 6.49-inch equivalent, and a slightly faster Dimensity 7060 processor (up from a Dimensity 7025). One slight anomaly is the provision of either 4GB or 8GB of RAM.
Not only does this offer the potential of two very different performance profiles, but the 4GB model only gets a single OS upgrade and three years of security updates. The 8GB model gets two and four years, respectively.

@Evleaks
The camera system looks almost identical to the Moto G86, with a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 32MP selfie cam. However, unlike the Moto G86, the main camera doesn’t pack OIS.
Also like the Moto G86, there’s an unusual focus on robust build quality, with the same IP68/IP69 and MIL-STD 810H certification.
Battery capacity is 5200mAh with 33W charging support.
There’s no news on availability here, but the Moto G85 launched in June and the Moto G55 was announced in August. We shouldn’t have too long to wait for either budget phone successor.
