Ms. Marvel season one introduced Kamala Khan to the MCU. As the breakout star of 2020’s Marvel’s Avengers game, and a planned appearance in the sequel to Captain Marvel, The Marvels, it looks like this new superhero is fast becoming a household name.
But will Kamala’s story continue in another season of Ms. Marvel? We have rounded up everything we know so far about Ms. Marvel season 2.
The Ms. Marvel show joins the likes of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision , contributing significantly to the overall narrative of phase 4 of the MCU
Will Ms. Marvel have a season 2?
Disney has not officially confirmed if Ms. Marvel will return for a second season, but executive producer Sana Amanat is certainly up for it.
In an interview with AV Club , she said the following: “Oh my God, there’s so much I would want to do in another season. Certainly more elements of Pakistan, the Red Daggers, and her family history. What happened when Hasan got on that train with baby Sana… I’ve been very public about my wanting a season two. We’ll see. I don’t know.”
Known leaker Daniel Richtman claims that there will be a season 2, but no official statement has been made. At Disney D23, Iman Vellani said that Marvel don’t tell her anything. However, if there was a second season, she would like to see Kamala’s next adventure to be similar to “what Spider-Man went through after fighting with the Avengers in ‘Civil War’…”.
Even if there is a season 2, Kamala’s story directly after season 1 will continue in The Marvels, the sequel to Captain Marvel. This is due to release on 28 July 2023, and Iman Vellani (Kamala Khan) will star alongside Brie Larson (playing Carol Danvers) and WandaVision’s Teyonah Parris (playing Monica Rambeau). The family of Kamala will also star in this film.
Ms. Marvel season 1 ending and post-credits scene explained
Spoilers for season 1 of Ms. Marvel below
Arguably, the biggest revelation from Ms. Marvel season one is that she is the first official mutant in the MCU.
At the end of the season finale, Bruno (Matt Lintz) told Kamala that he had been studying her DNA, and discovered something unusual, like a “mutation”. This was then followed up by the ’97 X-Men theme.
Kamala herself did not seem to grasp the significance of this reveal, claiming that it was just another label. However, there is now a chance that she could play a part in the introduction of the X-Men in Earth-616 going forward.
This is a big change from the comics, as there Kamala is an inhuman rather than a mutant – but this choice is suspected to be down to licensing issues at the time, as Marvel Studios did not have the rights to the X-Men when writing the story.
Disney now of course owns Fox, so Kamala being changed to a mutant seems rather fitting.

But the ending didn’t just set up the mutants. The post-credits scene showed Kamala being teleported somewhere via the bangle, and she was replaced by none other than her hero, Carol Danvers, AKA Captain Marvel (played by Brie Larson). Carol looks extremely disturbed to be in a room with pictures of herself plastered all over the walls, and quickly makes a run for it.
Fans are theorising that Kamala’s bangle is actually a Nega-Band, which makes users switch places – putting one in the real world, and one of the Negative Zone.
The show also left Kamran with the Red Daggers in Karachi, so the door is open for him and this faction to return once again.
