The Nintendo Switch 2 has been a key part of my life in June, and that’s meant taking it with me when travelling to test it out to its full capabilities. As a brand-new, pricey console, keeping it safe and scratch-free was a priority.

I needed an affordable case, and I needed one quickly. Plus, I didn’t want to rely on home delivery, as I couldn’t hang around all day waiting around for the doorbell to ring (I’d done that the day before for my console ).

Thankfully, Argos had just what I needed, with free next-day click and collect to a local store – it also offers same-day free collection to certain Argos stores, and home delivery if you prefer.

I opted for the Nacon Travel Case , which, to be frank, I chose because of the bargain price of £10 and quick pick-up with no delivery fee. However, it has plenty of nifty features.

First, there’s the handle. While I won’t be carrying this on the tube like a weird little briefcase (also because I’m not asking to be robbed), it makes it much easier to pull out of a backpack filled with other belongings.

The outer hard shell means that it’s pretty sturdy, and while it isn’t the smallest case on the market, it has plenty of space and pouches for additional accessories such as a Joy-Con grip, wired headphones and more. There’s a strap to hold the console in place, with three slots for game cartridges.

Some users may want a case with more game storage, but I’d argue that when I’m on the go, I’ll rarely have more than three games in rotation, and many of the ones I play are via virtual game cards/digital downloads anyway.

As the Switch 2 has just launched, there are limited case options right now, and all the other ones on Argos are in basic black. Nacon’s travel case, however, is available in the light red shade I’ve opted for, or a light blue – matching the colour of the Joy-Cons. It’s funky, bold and easy to spot.

Right now, you can also get 30% off a Stealth screen protector if you bundle it with this case. That’ll cost you just £16.98, and that bundle is still £4 cheaper than Nintendo’s official case alone .

If you’re about to go away on holiday and have realised you’re missing a case for your Switch 2 , this option for Nacon is affordable, reliable and should arrive quickly. What more could you want?
