Ninja’s new countertop oven and air fryer is available in the US today , priced at $349.99.

It’s not yet available in the UK, although you can check out our round-up of the best air fryer ovens to see the most recommended models that you can buy in the UK.

It has a capacity that’s closer to an inbuilt oven than a traditional air fryer, but all the advantages of air fryer technology: it’ll be faster and more economical to cook in.

And it has a huge advantage oven traditional, large-capacity air fryers. When I switched to air fryer cooking for a month , I found I didn’t need my oven for anything except pizza. But this air fryer oven even has space for that.

If you’re more used to seeing Ninja’s traditional air fryers, the brand’s Double Stack XL Countertop Oven & Air Fryer will be a surprise. For a start, it has a stainless-steel build – a far cry from the brand’s most recognisable plastic models.

But it also features some very recognisably Ninja-esque features.

It’s versatile, with 12 cooking programmes that will let you make almost any dry food: bake, broil, reheat, keep warm, toast, bagel, air fry, convection bake, pizza, air roast, whole roast, and dehydrate.

Even better, there are two completely separate cooking areas – a larger one at the bottom and smaller on top, with a 2/3rds to 1/3rd capacity split – which you can programme with separate cooking methods but sync to finish at the same time.

The cooking areas are separated by “flavorseal technology”, which stops cooking aromas from one section tainting the other. That means that if you’re cooking fish in one section and bruschetta in another, you won’t wind up with fishy bruschetta.

And the door itself is cleverly hinged. Ninja calls it its “flexdoor”, and it allows you to access the smaller top cooking area without affecting what’s cooking in the lower section.

It comes with all the accessories you’ll need: two sheet pans, two wire racks, one air fry basket, and a crumb tray. You’ll also get a recipe guide to get you started.

But this is a chunky cooker at 18.6in (D) x 16.39in (W) x 13.26in (H) and it’ll demand a corresponding large portion of your counter space.
