Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders are chaotic, to say the least, with stock coming and going, false information and error pages galore.
We’re keeping a close eye on UK retailers to give you the best chance of ordering Nintendo’s new console ahead of its 5 June release date.
We’ve now reached the official pre-order date of 8 April but many UK retailers have gone early, leaving shoppers disappointed. It’s far from over but you’ll need to be quick when stock is made available.
Below, you’ll find links to all the retailers selling the Switch 2 with stock updates. However, when they do arrive, they will go fast so keep refreshing pages and keep an eye on retailer social channels to hear first about when more consoles arrive.
As a reminder the Switch 2 is priced from £395 (or £429 with Mario Kart World bundled) and includes a larger 7.9-inch 1080p LCD screen with HDR and 120Hz refresh rate. There’s also 256GB storage, new GameChat feature, optional webcam, bigger and magnetic Joy-Cons and more.
Where to pre-order the Nintendo Switch 2 in the UK
The official Nintendo Store is the obvious place, though a system has been put in place to deter scalpers.
Nintendo says, “Has been a Nintendo Switch Online member for at least two years continuously by 31/03/2025, with an active membership on the day that the pre-order is placed”, and you’ll also need to have “spent a certain amount of time playing playing purchased/paid Nintendo Switch games”.
Those with more play time will be prioritised and you’ll need to keep an eye on your email for the invitation to pre-order.

Smyths Toys has some click and collect stock available but only in certain stores for the console on its own.
EE has a live pre-order page for the Mario Kart World bundle and we’ve seen a couple of restocks go live but they disappear very quickly, so act fast.
Currys has a sign-up page still, but you can reportedly pre-order if you can make your way to a physical store and then collect on launch day.
GAME pages for the console appear to be in stock but either show an error when adding to bag or an ‘out of stock’ message once it is added. Note that delivery will be £10.
HMV simply says the consoles are ‘coming soon’.
Shopto ‘s pages for the Switch 2 says ‘sold out’.
John Lewis says ‘Pre-orders are now sold out’
