In summary
- Samsung hasn’t included a Plus model with its latest tablet range
- Only Galaxy Tab S11 and S11 Ultra on offer
- Marks a change from last year’s Tab S10 family
Samsung just announced its new flagship tablet series, and there’s been a big change to the roster: we won’t be getting a Samsung Galaxy Tab S11+.
Around this time last year we wrote a very similar piece to this, revealing that Samsung had decided not to include a normal-sized, entry-level Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 in its then-new tablet line-up.
Back in 2024, it was a case of ‘go big or go home’ if you were shopping for a high-end Samsung tablet, with the only two options being the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ or the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra .
This year, that choice looks a little different. The company has seemingly changed its mind about premium customers wanting only super-sized tablets, and has dropped the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11+ from the roster altogether.
A wise move?
Your choice this year is a far more balanced one, I’d suggest.
You can grab the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 , with its 11-inch display, 8,400mAh battery, and £799/$799 starting price.
Or, you can grab the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra with its 14.6-inch screen and 11,600mAh battery for £1,199.
Opinion: It’s time for Samsung to give us a Galaxy Tab A with an Ultra-sized screen .

Unlike last year’s weirdly overlapping selection, there’s genuine differentiation at every key point. Just look at the difference between the two tablets in that title image. Do you want compact(ish) and affordable (kinda), or everything-but-the-kitchen-sink?
Of course, where last year’s approach started to make some kind of sense was when the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE was belatedly introduced, thus adding a smaller and cheaper option to the range. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 FE might not have quite so clear a niche to fill when it (presumably) arrives in the first half of 2026.
For now, those wanting something cheaper can get the new Galaxy Tab S10 Lite , and for even tighter budgets, the Galaxy Tab A11 range (skipping the Tab A10 naming, it seems) is tipped to be along very soon.
Samsung’s reasoning for the Tab S11 reshuffle, I suspect, comes down to the more pragmatic consideration of retail performance. It wouldn’t surprise me if the similarity of last year’s two options led to some confusion at the tills, and perhaps even some sales cannibalisation.
Whatever the reasoning, we’re excited to be going hands-on with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 range – Plus or no-Plus. Stay tuned for our full reviews and verdicts soon, but check our rankings for the best tablets to see what they have to beat.
