Fresh anecdotal reports suggest that opting for Samsung’s online exclusive colours for the Galaxy S25 and other phones might not be in your best interests.
For a number of years now, Samsung has offered an enticing reason to order its latest phones direct from its website: exclusive colour options.
The likes of the Titanium Jadegreen Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultr a are only available through Samsung’s own portal.
However, that very exclusivity has a negative side effect in the unfortunate event that you need to arrange a repair.
Samsung’s limited editions
As Android Authority notes, a recent Reddit post from a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 user highlights a potential problem with online exclusivity.
Said user recently went to use the Samsung Care+ insurance program to initiate a repair through an officially approved repair centre. However, there was an issue with the Icy Blue colour, which was an online exclusive variant. The repair outlet was unable to colour match these limited edition parts.

Even when the user agreed to go with a different colour, Samsung intervened, stating that the device wouldn’t activate if the colours didn’t match.
You’d think Samsung could have made up for this by offering appropriately shaded replacement parts from its own stocks, but the manufacturer didn’t have any either.
A replacement device was eventually provided… in a different colour.
Maybe boring is best
If you’re weighing up one of Samsung’s limited edition colours for the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 or Flip 7 – there’s rumoured to be a Green Mint shade in there – it might be worth considering the extra hassle this could cause should you ever require a repair.
Going for classic black or white option might be boring, but at least you can guarantee there’ll be plenty of spare parts knocking around in a year or two.
