Details concerning Samsung’s One UI 8 Watch have leaked online, alongside strong signs that the Galaxy Watch 8 smartwatch is nigh.

Having learned that Samsung was set to skip One UI 7 altogether for its smartwatch family, we’ve now received an insight into One UI 8 Watch and its feature set.

Having discovered the firmware for One UI 8 Watch, X user DevOfIpos has been sharing some of their findings.

What to expect from One UI 8 Watch

Those findings include images of the app icons Samsung is using in One UI 8 Watch. Notably, they’re a close match for the equivalent icons in One UI 7 on the Samsung Galaxy S25 and other phones.

Also notable is that Gemini, not Google Assistant, is the default assistant in this build.

This would seem to confirm reports from a couple of weeks ago of signs that Samsung was removing mention of Google Assistant from its forthcoming smartwatch UI revamp.

Newly discovered by Android Authority are so-called ‘Gemini Actions’, which suggest a degree of app-linking and task automation, as seen on Android phones. There are also signs that Google’s AI assistant will be able to manage calendar events, summarise emails, and answer queries.

Galaxy Watch 8 specs appear

In separate but related news, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 has appeared on the FCC’s regulatory database .

Carrying the model names SM-L335F and SM-L335U, we get the wholly unsurprising confirmation that these next-gen Galaxy Watch wearables will feature LTE, NFC, Bluetooth 5.3 LE, and Wi-Fi 4 connectivity.

We also learn that 10W charging speeds will be supported, as well as the existing Samsung EP-OL300 wireless charger.

Samsung is expected to bring back the Classic model after a year out, providing a model with a tactile rotating bezel as an alternative to the regular Samsung Galaxy Watch 8.
