  • It could be as powerful as anything
  • Early 2026 launch mooted

Reports suggest that OnePlus is working on a mini tablet , and it could be a bit of an iPad mini-rivalling powerhouse.

Established leakers Digital Chat Station and nakajimegame have shared details of the so-called OnePlus Pad Mini, which is reportedly in testing.

The compact tablet will apparently be powered by Qualcomm’s forthcoming flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 chip, which suggests it’ll be faster than any Android device on the market right now.

According to the source, OnePlus will announce its new mini tablet alongside the OnePlus 15T in the first half of 2026.

How ‘mini’ are we talking about?

No further details are shared here, but presumably the display (and thus the device itself) is going to be meaningfully smaller than anything in OnePlus’s current tablet range.

That includes the OnePlus Pad 3 with its 13.2-inch LCD, the OnePlus Pad Go with its 11.35-inch LCD, and the OnePlus Pad Lite with its 11-inch LCD.

It’s interesting that this tablet is mentioned alongside the OnePlus 15T, which is also expected to be smaller than OnePlus’s usual smartphone offerings. Reports suggest it’ll have a 6.3-inch display.

It seems 2026 is going to be the year OnePlus goes ‘small and mighty’ with some of its devices.

Of course, we’re not exactly lacking in smaller phone options – the Pixel 9 , Galaxy S25 , and iPhone 16 spring to mind. However, we don’t get too many compact tablets these days, and even fewer with top notch performance .

The OnePlus Pad Mini could be the first major rival to the iPad mini that we’ve seen for some time.
