One of the best mid-range smartphones of 2025 could be less than a month away from launching.
The OnePlus Nord 5 promises to be one of the hottest mid-range smartphones of the year, potentially offering stiff competition to the Google Pixel 9a .
We’ve been receiving a steady drip of spec leaks, and now we’re zeroing in on a firm release date. According to one tipster’s since-deleted X post (thanks GSMArena ), the phone will be announced on 8 July.
Established tipster Yogesh Brar has also revealed than an “early July” date is on the cards. This is right on cue for the OnePlus Nord 5, given that the OnePlus Nord 4 was announced on 14 July last year.

OnePlus Nord 5 rumoured specs
Previous leaks suggest that the OnePlus Nord 5 will feature a 6.77-inch 1.5K OLED display, a MediaTek Dimensity 9400e processor with 12 or 16GB of RAM, and either 256 or 512GB of storage.
We could also be looking at a 50MP main camera around back, accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide and a 16MP selfie camera.
We’ve also heard it mentioned that a huge 7,000 mAh battery could form part of the package, though this seems to be based on recent Chinese OnePlus model specs. We wouldn’t be surprised if that was downgraded for the European model. 100W charging is also tipped.
It’s sounding like a partial downgrade in certain respects, including claims of a plastic frame (albeit with a glass back). The OnePlus Nord 4 was notable for featuring a throwback metal unibody design.
The tips also mentioned that the cheaper OnePlus Nord CE5 could also be included with this announcement, though if last year’s roster is anything to go by, we won’t be receiving this model here in the UK.
