The Oppo Find N5 has been announced, and it undercuts our favourite piece of foldable hardware in at least one key way.

We were blown away by the design of the Honor Magic V3 , and in particular its 4.35mm-thin body. However, the Oppo Find N5 has just come along and taken its place as the skinniest foldable on the market.

Here’s the full rundown of the Oppo Find N5, which has just been officially announced in Singapore.

Oppo Find N5 is now the slimmest foldable around

First, let’s tackle that headline claim. At 4.2mm thick when open, the Oppo Find N5 is now the slimmest dual-fold foldable on the market (the tri-fold Huawei Mate XT gets down to 3.6mm).

It’s also the thinnest foldable outright when you consider its closed thickness, which is how you’ll be using the phone most of the time. The Oppo Find N5 measures just 8.93mm thick when in this position, which is about the thickness of a Google Pixel 8a .

The two halves are held together by a Titanium Flexion Hinge, which is said to be 26% smaller yet 36% more rigid than the previous model.

Meanwhile, a weight of 229g is about the same as the Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro . Sure, that’s at the very top end of non-foldable phone weights, but it’s still within those parameters.

Impressive camera specs

The other stand-out spec here is the Oppo Find N5’s Hasselblad-branded camera set-up.

This is led by a 50Mp 1/1.56″ main sensor with OIS, and a slightly less-than-impressive-sounding 8Mp ultrawide. However, the provision of a 50Mp telephoto camera with a 5.5x optical zoom sounds very strong for a foldable.

There’s a pair of identical 8Mp selfie cameras, depending on where you’re using the Oppo Find N5 open or closed. Naturally, you’ll be able to use that 50Mp main camera in conjunction with the external display for souped-up selfies.

Potentially epic stamina

Another specification that caught our eye was the Oppo Find N5’s 5600mAh battery. That’s much bigger than that of its foldable rivals.

This comes courtesy of the silicon-carbon battery technology that we’ve already seen in the OnePlus 13 , enabling Oppo to pack more into less.

There’s a healthy charging provision too, with 80W SuperVooc wired charging and 50W AirVooc wireless charging.

The rest of the Opposition Find N5 specs

While the rest of the Find N5’s specs aren’t as eye-catching as those aforementioned elements, they’re certainly not found wanting.

There’s a 6.62-inch LTPO OLED on one external half, with a 1140 x 2616 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 2450 nits.

The internal display is a large 8.12-inch LTPO OLED, again with a 120Hz refresh rate, but with a 2248 x 2480 resolution and a 2100 nits peak brightness.

This isn’t a foldable that’s going to be held back by sub-bar performance like the Huawei Mate X6 either, thanks to the provision of a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. This is accompanied by 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

How much does the Oppo Find N5 cost?

The Oppo Find N5 hits shops on 28 February, with prices starting from SGD2,499.

We’ll bring you official UK pricing when we get it, but that rounds out to about £1,500 if we’re going with a direct translation. We’d expect it to be broadly in the same territory as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold .

All in all, the Oppo Find N5 has placed itself into contention as the best full-sized foldable around. Stay tuned for our final review to see if it manages to stick the landing.
