More details have emerged concerning the so-called Oppo Find X8 Mini, an exciting-sounding compact flagship smartphone that could give the Google Pixel 9 Pro something to think about.
We’ve been hearing an increasing number of rumours concerning a more portable spin-off from the excellent Oppo Find X8 and Oppo Find X8 Pro.
The latest info dump comes from established smartphone leaker Digital Chat Station, who has posted some fresh specifications to Weibo .
What’s the latest on the Oppo Find X8 Mini specs?
According to DCS, the Oppo Find X8 Mini will pack a 6.3-inch 120Hz LTPO OLED with a so-called ‘1.5K’ resolution. That makes it sound an awful lot like the Google Pixel 9 Pro and its sharp-but-small screen.
Additional claims (via Google translation) of a “small straight screen, metal right-angle middle frame” suggest to us that the Find X8 Mini will adopt the flat-edged look that’s de rigueur among smartphones these days.
Also interesting is the leaker’s mention of a new custom button, which could be set to replace the three-position notification slider found on the Oppo Find X8 and Oppo Find X8 Pro .
We also learn that the camera system will pack in a 50Mp main camera, a 50Mp ultra-wide, and a 50Mp periscope camera with a 3.5x zoom (speculated to be the Samsung ISOCELL JN5).

Impressive charging, competitive performance
The Oppo Find X8 Mini’s charging provision should be pretty meaty for a smaller phone, with 80W wired charging and up to 50W wireless. No other mainstream phone of this size comes close.
According to the source, the Oppo Find X8 Mini will be relatively slim and light, with a weight said to be in the region of 180g. This would pitch it somewhere between the 162g Samsung Galaxy S25 and the 199g Pixel 9 Pro.
Reports suggest Oppo will stick with the same MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chip that powers the rest of the X8 range. Again, that should drop it short of the Galaxy S25, but well ahead of the Pixel 9 Pro for raw performance.
We’re expecting to see the Oppo Find X8 Mini (or whatever it’s called ) some time in March or April, potentially alongside a range-topping Oppo Find X8 Ultra. It’s not quite the small phone revival we’ve been craving, but another small er option is always welcome.
