Expert’s Rating
Pros
- Great cleaning results, both for vacuuming and mopping
- Powerful suction (up to 18,500 Pa)
- Can handle high thresholds
- Reaches along edges and in corners
Cons
- Thorough cleaning takes a while
- Persistent obstacle detection
Our Verdict
Roborock Qrevo Curv is a powerful and innovative robot vacuum cleaner that delivers top performance in both vacuuming and mopping. It handles high thresholds effortlessly and makes it possible to clean the entire home without manual effort. Maintenance is minimal, and the intuitive app offers many customisation options. What holds it back from the highest rating is the limping obstacle detection. Despite this, the Qrevo Curv is a very good option for those looking to invest in a premium robot vacuum cleaner that performs at a high level overall.

The Qrevo Curv isn’t out yet in the UK. See our round-ups of the best robot vacuums and the best cheap robot vacuums we’ve tested for our top recommendations among robot vacuums you can buy right now.
It’s almost impossible to keep track of how many different models Roborock has launched in recent years. Just this January, during the CES trade show in Las Vegas, it showed several new cleaning robots. One of them is the Saros Z70 , which equipped with a robotic arm that folds out to tidy up or move objects in the way.
Another new product is the Qrevo Curv, which I received for testing a couple of weeks ago. The design is different from previous models and feels well thought out. The docking station, which also houses the dust bag and the containers for clean and dirty water, is as curved as the robot’s name suggests. Stylish or not? It’s a matter of taste, but I like it.

A small disappointment, however, is that there’s no separate container for cleaning agents. That would have been a smart detail. As it is now, you can drip a little detergent into the container for clean water, but then you have to choose an agent that does not lather too much, as it can adversely affect the machine’s functions. I haven’t encountered any problems myself, but it still seems wise to be careful.

At first glance, the vacuum cleaner itself looks like any other modern robot vacuum model: circular in shape, with a small raised area on top that houses the laser-based navigation system. On the front, there’s also an RGB camera that helps the robot identify obstacles more effectively.
Exciting new features
However, it is on the underside of the robot that the real news is revealed. Firstly, all three wheels are individually height-adjustable, giving the model the ability to cross higher thresholds than we’re used to.
Secondly, we find the new two-piece main brush, called the Dual Anti-Tangle System. It’s designed to minimise tangles of collected hair, a smart solution that’s definitely appreciated in homes with pets or long-haired family members. But more on these features later.

Installation is quick and easy, and the accompanying app guides you through all the functions and settings. After the robot takes an initial reconnaissance tour, your home is mapped and ready for cleaning.
Easy-to-use app
The app gives you full control over the robot’s settings. Do you want it to start by cleaning the carpets before tackling the rest of the floors, or would you prefer it to vacuum the whole home first and then start mopping?
You can also set how often the mops are rinsed during a cleaning round, and whether the robot should lift the mops to vacuum only when it passes over a carpet. In addition, it can sense how dirty a surface is and run an extra round if necessary. With all these customisation options, you can easily adjust the robot’s behaviour to suit your home perfectly.

The app is one of the best on the market. User-friendly and packed with features.

The suction power is impressive – a whopping 18,500Pa! The latest round of robot vacuums are hitting new heights with suction power, with flagship models from Dreame and Eufy achieving up to 22,000Pa. These are almost unreal figures, especially when you consider that just a few years ago, top-of-the-range models were around 6,000-7,000Pa.
And the Curv’s power really makes a difference. Virtually everything we spread on the floor – cat litter, breadcrumbs and sand – was sucked up without a problem. Even on carpets, Qrevo Curv delivers impressive results.
Brilliant cleaning results
The mop system is also well thought out. It consists of two rotating pads, a solution that is becoming increasingly common among manufacturers. Here, the right pad can angle out to reach along edges and into corners, making cleaning feel both efficient and thorough.
The front side brush, the FlexiArm, performs the same function and does a great job of capturing dust and dirt in hard-to-reach areas.

And then there’s the two-piece main brush. I’ll admit I was sceptical at first. How much difference can it really make compared to a traditional brush? The answer: quite a bit. The design brings all the collected hair towards the centre of the brush, where it is then easily sucked up into the dust container. It’s a simple and smart solution that works surprisingly well in practice.
A good climber
But how does it actually work with high thresholds? If you live in an older home, you’ll recognise the problem. Even in more modern homes, a higher threshold, such as one to the bathroom, can often become an obstacle that prevents the robot from cleaning all surfaces. That’s why I’m happy to report that the bathroom threshold in my home, which measures a full 3cm in height, was cleared without any problems.
The manoeuvre itself is a little spectacle. It almost looks as if the robot is thinking for a while before taking on the task. First it backs up, raises the front, and then it accelerates at full speed to basically fly over the obstacle. It’s both impressive and entertaining to watch!

Obstacle detection leaves something to be desired
Obstacle detection and the robot’s ability to avoid them is the only area where Qrevo Curv gives me some headaches. Larger obstacles, such as shoes or a sock on the floor, are easily detected. The robot even sends a photograph of the obstacle to the app, where you as the user can decide whether to ignore it or include it in future navigation.

A sock is no problem…
Andreas Bergsman
However, smaller objects, such as a USB cable or similar, do not fare as well. These are not detected at all, but run over and get stuck in the robot’s undercarriage. The same applies to power cables that run along skirting boards. They tend to get caught in the floor mops, causing the mops to detach from their magnetic mounts. When that happens, the cleaning is interrupted, and you have to step in to help the robot.

… but it is registered and the user is notified in the app.
Andreas Bergsman
Of course, this becomes particularly problematic if you’ve scheduled the cleaning for a time when you are not at home. The robot can then get stuck in the middle of a mishap, unable to continue until you get home and resolve the situation.
Sure, this can be prevented by putting away small items and cords before cleaning, but this feels like a problem that shouldn’t have to happen, especially considering that this is one of Roborock’s latest models and that the price tag is equivalent to a summer holiday.

It’s worse with cords that the mops easily get caught in.
Andreas Bergsman
Should you buy the Roborock Qrevo Curv?
To summarise, the Roborock Qrevo Curv is a state-of-the-art robot vacuum cleaner that combines impressive suction power with advanced cleaning features and innovative solutions, such as solving the problem of high thresholds.
Finally, the whole home can be cleaned without having to lift the robot into otherwise inaccessible areas. Maintenance is minimal, and the automatic cleaning of the mops with real hot water at the end of the shift is both efficient and hygienic.
