Fresh mentions of the so-called Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite cheap tablet have appeared online, and they point to a somewhat perplexing launch window.
Back in April we reported on rumours surrounding a new mid-range tablet from Samsung, which was being referred to as the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite.
Now that affordable tablet has appeared again, with tipster Alfaturk claiming that the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite has entered “the software testing” phase of development.
This new tablet is apparently running on a version of One UI 7, which runs on top of Android 15. Presumably that’ll be bumped up to One UI 8 and Android 16 pretty sharpish, perhaps even for launch.
Talking of which, we now have an idea of the tablet’s release date – and it’s a weird one.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite release plans
According to the tipster, Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite alongside the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 range. That’s right, we’ll be getting a brand new S10-series device at the same time as tablets from the following generation.
If history is anything to go by, that would point to an October release for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite.
Samsung has fallen into a similar trap before with its Galaxy FE smartphone range. The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE arrived just a couple of months before the Samsung Galaxy S25 , causing reviewers to question the timing. You could argue that this simultaneous launch is an even worse idea.

The same source also confirms the previous assertion that the tablet will run on Samsung’s own Exynos 1380 chip. This would seem to underline the suggestion that this is going to be a lesser tablet than the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE .
Given this, as well as the presence of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ at the low end of the market, we previously speculated that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite would probably launch around the £399 mark.
Samsung always produces incredibly solid affordable and mid-range tablets, not to mention the classy high-end delights of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra . However, it’s difficult to get over the weirdness of the mooted release schedule for its latest tablet.
