Samsung’s next generation of flagships is just weeks away, but to be honest, there’s not a whole lot to get excited about.

If the rumours are to be believed, the Galaxy S26 , S26+ and S26 Ultra all look set for relatively minor upgrades.

The most intriguing is the confirmed Privacy Screen feature , though that’s set to remain exclusive to the S26 Ultra.

However, the entire lineup is expected to get built-in Qi2 wireless charging, following in the footsteps of the Pixel 10 series .

We now have our first look at the official 25W charger, and it looks like a banger. As a wireless charging sceptic, I think this could be the accessory that convinces me to embrace it.

What the puck!

This leak comes courtesy of SamMobile , which has a strong track record for Samsung news.

It suggests that the accessory will be known as the ‘Magnetic Wireless Charger’. How inventive.

As the seemingly official packaging below shows, the charger will supposedly be able to reach 25W speeds.

That matches what’s rumoured for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which would be a big upgrade compared to the 15W Qi wireless charging on its predecessor .

While the regular S26 and S26+ are expected to be limited to 20W, SamMobile says they’ll still be compatible with the accessory. You can supposedly also connect older Samsung phones , but these will be restricted to 15W speeds.

As you can see, the charger takes the form of a braided cable with a large plastic puck for securely attaching to the back of the phone.

At the other end, the USB-C cable is designed to be paired with Samsung’s own 45W charger , but it should work with any Power Delivery-compatible charger. I’m looking forward to trying it out with my Pixel Flex dual-port charger .

It’s unclear if the Magnetic Wireless Charger will be available in any other colours besides black. As you’ll know if you’ve read my recent phone colours piece , that doesn’t bother me at all, but you might consider it a little boring.

The new default way to charge?

Admittedly, 25W wireless charging isn’t exactly rapid, so I can see myself being tempted by the rumoured 60W wired charging coming to the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

But for pure convenience, Qi2 will be hard to beat. Having a few of these dotted around the house, allowing me to slap my phone into place and never worry about it being dislodged, could be a game-changer.

Of course, that relies on the Magnetic Wireless Charger being affordable, which is far from guaranteed. But it undoubtedly has the potential to change the way I charge my phone, and it could be the same for you.
