The Surface Duo 2’s high start price is the main reason not to buy one, but that’s not the case in the US anymore.
It’s not clear how long these deals will last, or if they’re the new permanent prices. However, being marked as a saving on the Microsoft website suggests they won’t be around for long. Unfortunately, there are no comparable Duo 2 deals outside the US right now – you’ll still pay at least £1,349 in the UK , for example.
The Surface Duo 2 is a huge improvement over its predecessor, with Microsoft continuing to refine and tweak the dual-screen form factor. Performance from the Snapdragon 888 chip, a 90Hz display and impressive triple rear cameras are among the highlights. Battery life and build quality are solid too, but software was the big let-down during testing.
However, Microsoft has released several updates in recent months that dramatically improve the Duo 2 user experience. If your workflow regularly includes running two apps side-by-side, it’s now a realistic option. These big discounts bring it roughly in line with traditional flagship smartphones , so it’s worth considering for many people.
Just one of many great Surface deals right now
However, these Duo 2 deals are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Surface discounts at the moment.
Despite being a cautious upgrade over its predecessor, the Surface Laptop 4 offers everything most people are looking for. These include an excellent hi-res display, great battery life and a premium design. It already represents decent value for money at full price, but this hefty discount takes things to the next level.
There’s also savings across the entire Surface Pro 8 range, including a huge $393 off an Intel Core i5 variant with 8GB of RAM and a 512GB . It’s now significantly cheaper than the 128GB entry-level model usually is.
You can also save anywhere between $177 and $250 on the Surface Laptop Studio right now. More modest discounts are available on the Surface Go 3 , but $50 off the three top-spec configurations is worth paying attention to.
