The iPhone 17 and new Apple Watches are set to launch next, but before that IFA 2025 has kicked off and we’ve found the best new products on show.

IFA 2025 is a huge tech show which takes place annually in Berlin, Germany, and Tech Advisor is always snooping high and low for the latest and greatest gadgets.

It opens to the public today, 5 September, but media are allowed to get a sneak peek at the swanky (actually still being built) booths over 27 halls and the ‘City Cube’, which Samsung completely takes over. Some brands hold events separately from the show itself.

Our roving reporters have clocked up more steps than would be considered advisable – their fitness trackers wondering what’s going on – to get hands-on with the best new phones, tablets, smartwatches, robot vacuum cleaners and much, much more.

Just as we did last year , we give awards to only the top devices, the ones we genuinely want to own. Without further ado, here are the Tech Advisor Best of IFA 2025 awards.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra

Samsung decided to launch its Galaxy Tab S11 flagship tablets at IFA this year, and the Tab S11 Ultra is undoubtedly the star of the show.

Its main selling point – that massive 14.6-inch AMOLED display – remains the highlight, but there are some nice upgrades in other areas. A move to MediaTek’s 3nm Dimensity 9400+ chipset should deliver a nice performance boost, while the slimmer build and revamped S Pen are welcome improvements.

The tablet also ships running Android 16-based One UI 8, the latest version of Samsung’s tablet software, which includes loads of AI features and support for a more advanced version of DeX, the company’s desktop experience. You also get a full seven years of updates.

Battery capacity has been boosted slightly to 11,600mAh, while 45W wired charging remains. But ultimately, this is a case of the most advanced Android tablet we’ve ever seen getting a small but potentially significant upgrade.

Sadly, there’s been no change to the starting price, so it’ll set you back at least £1,099/$1,099 – and it’s on sale now.

TCL Nxtpaper 60 Ultra

TCL Nxtpaper 60 Ultra - 2

Matt displays – designed to kill reflections and give a more comfortable viewing experience – have been gaining pace in televisions, but can also be found on smartphones.

TCL’s Nxtpaper 60 Ultra updates the awkwardly-named TCL 50 Pro Nxtpaper 5G from 2024, offering that glare-free, flicker-free, reflection-free display for something that’s a little different.

The display expands to 7.2 inches and retains the switch that will go from full colour to a paper-like experience, great for reading.

When in colour mode it doesn’t have the same impact as a regular vibrant and glossy smartphone display, but it still offers rich colours and there’s a wonderful texture, so it feels lovely when you’re swiping around on it – it’s 120Hz too.

This is a phone that’s all about that innovative display, but there’s still a dual 50Mp camera on the back, offering up to 6x lossless zoom.

Check out our hands-on with the TCL Nxtpaper 60 Ultra .

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE

samsung galaxy s25 fe - 3

Anyron Copeman / Foundry

The ‘Fan Edition’ of Samsung’s flagship phone lineup isn’t a flagship at all. With a £649/$649 starting price, the Galaxy S25 FE is cheap enough to be considered a mid-range phone , yet it looks and feels just as premium.

It’s essentially a Galaxy S25+ for less, adopting a near-identical design and retaining a 6.7-inch AMOLED display and the same cameras.

A 4900mAh battery and 45W wired charging also match the high-end phone – improving on the S24 FE – while the S25 FE ships running One UI 8, which is based on Android 16. You also still get the impressive commitment to seven years of updates.

The main compromise is an Exynos 2400 chipset instead of the Snapdragon 8 Elite, while the glass on the front and back of the phone isn’t quite as tough. You also have to put up with an optical fingerprint scanner instead of an ultrasonic one.

But this is more than reflected in the price, which is a full £350/$350 cheaper than the Galaxy S25+. And you can buy one now and get a free Galaxy Watch 7.

Opinion: I’ve tried the Galaxy S25 FE, and it might make the S25+ obsolete

Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro

Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro - 4

Note: We weren’t allowed to take original photography of the T-Rex 3 Pro when we saw it

Amazfit

Designed for endurance sports enthusiasts, the Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro smartwatch introduces a raft of new features, such as advanced mapping functions, integrated flashlight, speaker with a mic.

Why call it “T-Rex”? Maybe they should’ve gone with Stegosaurus – because with its titanium plating, rugged build and sapphire glass display, this thing is practically wearing body armour. But unlike its prehistoric namesake, the T-Rex 3 Pro isn’t slow. It’s built for trail runners, and was recently tested in the brutal UTMB race.

The T-Rex 3 Pro can operate in temperatures ranging from -30°C to +70°C, and is equipped with a dual-colour LED to provide visibility in the dark along with an SOS signal.

Its AMOLED display is available in two sizes—1.5 inches (48mm) and 1.32 inches (44mm) – offering peak brightness of up to 3000 nits. With a built-in speaker and microphone, the T-Rex 3 Pro enables Bluetooth calls, voice control of the watch via Zepp Flow, and voice alerts during training sessions and competitions.

Lost in the wild? Not anymore. The advanced mapping system lets you generate new routes on the fly – just set your direction and distance, and it guides you forward.

Beyond trail running, the T-Rex 3 Pro supports 180 sports modes – from strength training to water sports. It tracks everything that matters for peak performance: VO2 max, recovery time, HRV, sleep quality, and more.

You can buy it now from Amazfit for £399.

Eufy Marswalker

Simon Jary / Foundry

With the Eufy Marwalker robots have maybe made one bold leap for cleaners. After cleaning one floor of a house, the Marswalker moves on to the next by climbing the stairs – previously a step, or rather many steps, too far for robot vacuum cleaners.

The world’s first stair-climbing robotic cleaner is a whole-home cleaning platform with autonomous multiple-floor capability. Compatible with the new eufy S2 robot vacuum, it’s a smart crawler platform with tracked drive, advanced grip and balance control. Its auto floor detection knows when one floor is done, so it can climb to the next.

Shown at IFA for the first time, it should be available in spring 2026.

Motorola Moto Edge 60 Neo

Motorola Edge 60 Neo - 6

Chris Hall / Foundry

The Motorola Edge 50 Neo was something of a breakthrough device, offering surprising performance, luscious vegan leather finishes with Pantone colours and a great compact display.

The Edge 60 Neo picks up this baton and continues to run with it – and it could be one of the best mid-range phones of 2025.

This 6.4-inch phone has a premium design, with IP68/69 protection, with a stunning 3000 nits display, capable to peak brightnesses far in excess of many rivals. There are three Pantone options, with a punch of colour, while many phones are just black.

Three cameras are offered, including a 3x optical zoom lens, which is rare in this category. But best of all, the Edge 60 Neo bumps the battery to 5000mAh (over the 4310mAh of the Edge 50 Neo), so this looks like a meaningful update.

Price and availability are TBC.

Aukey MagFusion Ark

Aukey MagFusion Ark wireless charger on display at IFA 2025 - 7

Chris Hall / Foundry

Qi2.2 – or Qi2 25W as it’s being marketed – was announced in July and charging giant Aukey has stepped up to make sure that you don’t run short of Qi2 25W chargers. The MagFusion Ark is an interesting example, showcased at IFA 2025.

This wireless charger will support up to six devices, all capable of charging at 25W wirelessly, with nice strong magnets to hold everything in place. Those orbs on the top detach with each containing its own 6700mAh battery, so it becomes a wireless charger you can use elsewhere – it might even fit neatly in your car’s cup holder.

Those orbs also have a USB-C port supporting 30W charging and a cooling system, so it’s really versatile. The Aukey MagFusion Ark will be available in Q1 2026 and Aukey has said that smaller single or double base options will also be available, with orbs sold separately.

Qi2 25W made its debut on the Pixel 10 Pro XL but it’s expected that Apple will support it on iPhone 17 , too.

Baseus PicoGo AF21 3-in-125W Wireless Charger

Baseus PicoGo AF21 Foldable 3-in-125W Wireless Charger - 8

Simon Jary / Foundry

Qi 2.2 (or Qi2 25W as some are calling it) is the star of the show at IFA when it comes to charging accessories. The new wireless charging tech takes speeds from the humdrum 7.5W and once-exciting 15W to a wired-charging-like 25W. It may sound dry but to charging aficionados this is exciting stuff.

Your phone will be charged much faster and with all the convenience of wireless. This is especially significant now that Google’s Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL have joined Apple’s iPhone in embracing magnetic wireless charging.

There are a lot of samey chargers out there, but one that really caught our eye at IFA was the Baseus PicoGo, which folds up into a tiny package but unfolds into something like we’ve never seen before.

It is still heavily aimed at Apple users as it can charge an Apple Watch as well as a phone and wirelessly chargeable earbuds, but Android users joining the magnetic game will be sure to love it, too.

Tecno Slim

Tecno Spark Slim - 9

Chris Hall / Foundry

Tecno is a lesser-known technology brand, but it’s a company that likes to push boundaries, here rivalling the sort of svelte lines we’ve seen from the Sams u ng Galaxy S25 Edge. If the Tecno Spark Slim sounds familiar, that’s because this is the production version of the concept phone we saw at MWC earlier in the year.

Tecno is calling this the “world’s slimmest 3D-curved phone” because it hangs onto the curved edges of the display that used to be commonplace from brands like Samsung. That makes it feel incredibly thin in the hand, as there’s no squared edge as you’ll find on the S25 Edge.

There are two versions, 4G (Pova Slim) and 5G (Spark Slim), with the 5G model coming in at 5.95mm, with a 6.7-inch display packing in a crazy 4500 nits, all powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400.

The phone launches on Android 15 running HiOS, and as is often the case with Tecno, it’s not clear where you might buy this slender phone and how much it might cost.

ThinkBook VertiFlex Concept

It might seem a little odd to award a concept a “Best of IFA” award, but Lenovo’s concepts have a way of becoming products within a few years. Its latest is the ThinkBook VertiFlex Concept , a laptop with a screen that swivels from landscape to portrait mode and back again.

That’s it? That’s it. But when you’re on the road, trying to wrestle with a laptop screen can be a challenge on a plane or in a hotel room. Lenovo built the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Rollable on a similar concept (a rollable OLED that extends the laptop display vertically) and it won our sister site, PCWorld’s, Editors’ Choice award. Swapping the orientation is already something you can do on many standalone displays.

Lenovo hasn’t told us whether it will turn the VertiFlex into a product, or when that will happen. But for one thing, who shows off concepts any more? Just putting a potential product out into the world for comment and discussion is something more companies need to do, period.

Ugreen MagFlow Magnetic Power Bank

Ugreen MagFlow Magnetic Power Bank 10k IFA - 11

Simon Jary

Ugreen showcased a full range of fast wireless power products based on the new Qi2 25W technology—indeed a whole family of portable and desktop-based chargers that significantly increase wireless charging speeds through more precise magnetic alignment.

Qi2 25W pushes magnetic wireless charging from its previous 15W maximum to a much faster 25W, as the name suggests. Previously, magnetic charging was enjoyed by only Apple’s iPhones, but these new chargers and Qi2 25W in general look to take the wireless charging tech to Android devices too, including the newly released Google Pixel 10 Pro XL.

Ugreen’s MagFlow family includes one desktop charger and four portable chargers, including the first 25W power bank we’ve seen.

The MagFlow Magnetic Power Bank 10000mAh 25W ( £79.99 /$89.99/€89,99), pictured here, beats all comers to the crown of first 25W power bank, although it is sure to be joined by others in the coming weeks and months.

It can power an iPhone 16 Pro Max to 50% in around 30 minutes, a speed that was previously reserved for cabled charging. It also includes a handy built-in 30W USB-C cable that doubles as a carry strap.

Anker Prime Docking Station

Anker Charging Prime Dock IFA on display at 2025 - 12

Simon Jary / Foundry

This 14-port dock mimics the look of Anker’s Prime Desktop Charger and includes the same top-end 140W PD 3.1 upstream USB-C port and three USB-C, but adds another two USB-A ports (for a total of three), as well as dual HDMI, DisplayPort, Ethernet, audio, and SD/TF slots.

Its triple-display supports (8K/4K/4K) for Windows laptops and MacBooks is made possible with DisplayLink software that gets around Apple’s M1/M2/M3 display limitations.

At the front, its smart display shows real-time USB-C charging power, data transfer status, display signal, and temperature. An on-device screen PC app enables further device monitoring, casting settings, firmware updates, and diagnostics.

ActiveShield 3.0 prevents throttling and maintains peak performance during charging, transfers, or display, claims Anker.

All of the USB-C ports support both fast charging and high-speed data transfer for maximum convenience, taking what was once just a great desktop charger and transforming it into a fully fledged docking station.

Anker is offering 30% off early-bird sign-up as well as other perks.

Baseus hosted a trip to IFA for one of our writers but there were no conditions on what we could write and we did not agree to mention any specific products or brands.
