When we first tested the Swan Alexa Smart Kettle, we were perhaps a mite sceptical. After all, what can smart features possibly add to the humble kettle?
But we loved it – and with this whopping discount, we think you will too. The Alexa Smart Kettle is usually priced at £99.99 but you can buy it in Swan’s Black Friday sale for just £59.99, saving you 40%.
The discount will be available until the end of Black Friday, unless stock runs out before then. Here’s why we think you should go for it.
The Swan Alexa Smart Kettle is packed with features that make it the ultimate kettle. Here are some of the best.
Link it to your Alexa app and you can schedule it to boil, boil it from the other room or even boil it using a voice command. That means you can schedule it for the same time as your alarm in the morning and have hot water ready by the time you shuffle to the kitchen. You can also make tea or coffee in a jiffy during ad breaks – without standing by the kettle waiting for the water to boil.

It has a range of six temperatures you can set – from 40°C to 100°C – so you can choose the perfect temperature for tea, coffee, green tea, warm honey and more. (Can you even call yourself a tea-lover if your kettle doesn’t have a tea setting?)
The kettle itself is brilliantly designed. It’s sleek and glossy, with a bright temperature display. It’s cordless as well. And if you have guests, or family members who don’t want to use the smart features, they can switch it on just like you would an ordinary kettle. It’s just as easy to use.

As it’s just a 1,800W appliance, and has an energy efficient build, making a cup of tea will cost you less. Many kettles are 3,000W, so they use much more power. When we tested it, it cost around 4p to boil the full kettle, against an average of 6.8p .
There’s no protruding heating element inside, so it’s easier to clean. And, if you use the smart features, it’ll send you an alert via the Alexa app to let you know when it’s time to descale it.

Bear in mind that you’ll need to be an Alexa user to enjoy the smart features and there is one limitation we didn’t love: it has a minimum fill volume which is equivalent to two cups of tea or coffee, so you can’t just boil enough water for a single cuppa.
You can read our review for more in-depth information on what it’s like to use or see the kettle on the Swan website .
