In case you missed it, Samsung has had one of its biggest launch events ever, but we have you covered so here’s everything that was announced at Unpacked 2024.
The latest Unpacked launch event took place on 10 July in Paris and the Korean tech giant put on a bumper show with plenty of new gadgets for you to add to your wish list.
Not only did we get a new generation of foldable smartphones, Samsung also launched new smartwatches, its first smart ring and new wireless earbuds to boot.
With a total of seven new Galaxy products all going on sale 24 July, let’s get you up to speed on what’s new.
Galaxy Z Fold 6
Samsung’s new book-style foldable is an iterative update on last year’s Z Fold 6, but there are still some notable upgrades.
On the hardware side, perhaps the biggest one is the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chipset, which should benefit both performance and battery life, despite no improvements to the 4400mAh cell.
However, you do get a slightly larger 6.3-inch cover display to go alongside the 7.6-inch internal screen.

The upgrades on the software side are arguably more interesting, with a suite of Galaxy AI features (including some not yet available on the Galaxy S24 series) and class-leading seven years of OS and security updates.
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 starts at £1,799/$1,899, meaning it’s still one of the most expensive foldables around.
Galaxy Z Flip 6
With the Z Flip 6, Samsung has addressed some of the major pain points of its previous flip phone, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 .
The main rear camera has been upgraded to the exact same 50Mp sensor as the Galaxy S24+ , while the battery capacity has increased from 3700mAh to 4000mAh
The latter should be helped by a move to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chipset, which pretty much guarantees the best performance around.

Small tweaks to the 6.7-inch internal screen and 3.4-inch cover display are welcome, though most rely on the upgraded software experience. Like the Z Fold 5, you get loads of new Galaxy AI features and seven years of both OS and security updates here.
Considering its £1,049 starting price has stayed the same ($1,099 in the US), the Z Flip 6 looks to be a serious rival for the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra.
Galaxy Watch 7
It was almost certain that Samsung would launch a new flagship smartwatch and here is the Galaxy Watch 7 – there are no Classic or Pro models .
Arriving as the first wearable with WearOS 5 and Samsung’s new Exynos W1000 chipset which is manufactured on a 3nm process. The firm says it can open key apps up to 2.7x faster than the Galaxy Watch 6 .
Other improvements include a dual-GPS, an enhanced BioActive Sensor for increased accuracy and pair it with a Galaxy smartphone and you can use pinch gestures to do things like stop a timer, take a photo and control music playback.

It’s the first smartwatch (along with the Ultra) , says Samsung, with a combination of electrical heart signal, blood pressure, BIA (bioelectrical impedance analysis) and SpO2 (blood oxygen) sensors.
Once again, it’s available in 40- and 44mm sizes with Bluetooth or LTE connectivity in addition. Prices start at £289/$299 .
Galaxy Watch Ultra
As per the rumours ahead of Unpacked, Samsung has taken on Apple with its own ‘ultra’ smartwatch.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra is similar to the Galaxy Watch 7 in various ways including the processor, storage, sensors and Sapphire Crystal glass cover.
However, the device is encased in a chunkier 47mm case able to withstand extreme conditions. The ‘new cushion design’ (the square-ish chassis around the screen) protects the display and innards.
Samsung says the Galaxy Watch Ultra can withstand temperatures from –20c up to 55c as well as altitudes of up to 9000m.

The Titanium Grade 4 build is military grade and both 10ATM (100m) and IP48 rated and to help in harsh conditions the 1.5-inch display can hit a peak brightness of 3000nits.
And to stick it to Apple, the premium smartwatch is cheaper at £599/$649 .
Galaxy Ring
After its shock tease at Unpacked back in January and then a closer but still behind-glass look at MWC, Samsung’s first smart ring is fully official.
The device takes on the likes of the Oura Ring Gen 3 , RingConn Smart Ring , Circular Ring Slim and more.
Aimed at round the clock fitness and wellbeing tracking, it has various sensors to measure your heart rate, activity, sleep and more.

Battery life lasts a week (or more when you use it in conjunction with a Galaxy Watch) and there’s a clever portable charging case. Available in three colours and nine sizes, the Galaxy Ring costs £399/$399 with no additional subscription fees.
Galaxy Buds 3/3 Pro
Rounding things off are two new pairs of true wireless earbuds, the Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro.
These primarily shake things up on the design front compared to previous generations and now have a stem shape with LEDs on each. The so called ‘Blade Lights’ can do things like light up to help you find them down the back of the sofa as well as indicate pairing mode.
Modern smart features (including AI) come in the form of interpreter mode where the buds can listen for a different language to your own and translate it to you. The buds can also adjust the level of noise cancelling based on your surroundings or if you’re talking.

The Buds 3 have an open design whereas the Buds 3 Pro have a ‘canal’ design with ear tips. Samsung has priced them at £159 and £219 respectively.
