Images and spec details for Xiaomi’s Redmi Pad 2 have leaked, revealing a new budget tablet contender with a particularly compelling audio proposition.
Ytechb has posted renders of a new tablet from Xiaomi’s budget Redmi brand, the Redmi Pad 2, and it’s shaping up very nicely indeed.
It’s certainly a sharper look than the Redmi Pad SE (pictured above) that we reviewed back in 2023.

Redmi Pad 2: display and performance
Of course, when it comes to design, there isn’t an awful lot you can do with a tablet. It’s what’s on the inside that counts, and the Redmi Pad 2 is shaping up to be a really budget contender.
It’s led by a 11-inch 90Hz LCD with a nice sharp 1600 X 2500 resolution.
MediaTek’s Helio G100 Ultra chipset runs the show, which is a rather modest component built on a 6nm production process. That’ll be backed by a rather weedy-sounding 4GB of RAM in the base model, though there is an 8GB step-up option. Here’s hoping the latter is the one that’s pushed here in the UK.
There’s either 128 or 256GB of internal storage, and you get a fairly sizeable 9,000mAh battery with 18W wired charging.

Redmi Pad 2: other specs
The website reports a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support, which is exciting to see in a cheap tablet. So too is the presence of a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom edge. This cheap tablet could be a serious audio specialist.
Cameras don’t really matter all that much on tablets – least of all budget tablets – but the Redmi Pad 2 gives you an 8MP f/2.0 main sensor and a 5MP front camera.
Onto pricing, and the website claims that the Redmi Pad 2 will start from €229 (around £200, we’d presume) for the 4GB/128GB model, moving up to €279 (probably around £240), for the step-up 8GB/256GB model that we’re instinctively gravitating towards.
