Eight years after the last part of The Hunger Games movie series premiered, Panem is once again back in the limelight. However, this time the story isn’t told through the eyes of Katniss Everdeen, but of Coriolanus Snow, 60 years younger.
The new instalment of The Hunger Games hit cinemas on 17 November 2023, and tickets are still available. However, if you want to watch the film at home, here’s everything we know about the release of The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes on streaming platforms, VOD and DVD/Blu-ray.

When will The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes release on DVD/Blu-ray?
Those who like to have physical copies of films may soon be able to purchase the The Hunger Games prequel on DVD or Blu-Ray. Shortly after the film’s premiere, Walmart made the movie available for preorder , and copies are expected to ship by the end of December according to the website.
This information isn’t available elsewhere, so it may just be a standard date listed – when we know more, we’ll update this article.

When will The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes be streaming in the US?
Lionsgate has made deals with various streaming platforms. In 2021, studio signed an agreement with Starz , and in 2022, with Roku Channel . Starting from 2024, Lionsgate films should also be available on Peacock .
So, what does this mean for The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes? In the United States, the film could come to all three of these platforms eventually, but we estimate that Starz will get it first. The release date hasn’t been announced yet, but considering the general trend, it will likely happen around six months after the theatrical premiere.
In that case, The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes may hit streaming platforms in May 2024.

The basic Starz subscription costs $8.99 per month, but currently, you can access the service at a promotional price of $3 per month for 3 months.
Access to the basic Roku Channel package is free, and you can use it if you have a Roku streaming device or TV.
