Samsung Unpacked launch events are a big deal, bringing with them plenty of Galaxy-related news, and importantly, new devices from phones to tablets to smartwatches.
It’s been a little while since the last Unpacked event in January for the Galaxy S25 series , but the next one is officially happening very soon, in July.
Here’s what we know about the next Samsung Unpacked 2025 launch event, including the confirmed date as well as what we expect to see (and not see) launch.

When is the next Samsung Unpacked launch event?
As per the speculation and reliable leakers such as Evan Blass, the next Unpacked will take place in July.
Specifically on 9 July at 10am EDT – making it 3pm BST UK time . The event will take place in Brooklyn, New York, and you can already reserve the new phone and get $50 credit as well as a chance to win $5,000 .
Samsung’s teaser appears to confirm there will be a new foldable phone at the very least, but a lot more is expected to launch – see below.
The hero device should be the Galaxy Z Fold 7, but Samsung keeps mentioning ‘Ultra’ in reference to the device, so there’s a chance it, or one model, is called the Galaxy Z Fold Ultra.
“The Ultra experience is ready to unfold” said Samsung in another post.
Here’s when Samsung normally holds Unpacked events:
- January: For Galaxy S flagship phones
- July: For Galaxy Z phones and Galaxy Watch smartwatches
- September: For Galaxy Tab tablets

What will Samsung launch at the next Unpacked?
Fans will be pleased to hear it is shaping up to be a bumper launch event for new Galaxy phones and smartwatches .
Countless rumours suggest that Samsung will be launching a number of gadgets at the July Unpacked, quite possibly six or even more.
Galaxy Z Fold 7

Luke Baker
The headline device at Unpacked will almost certainly be the Galaxy Z Fold 7 , Samsung’s new flagship book-style foldable phone.
It, of course, follows on from the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and is set to feature improvements in primarily AI, cameras and the cover screen.
Confusingly, Samsung has teased the device with the ‘Ultra’ branding found on the likes of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, but it’s now thought Samsung won’t be using this in the model name.
Galaxy Z Flip 7/Flip FE

Dominik Tomaszewski / Foundry
There are two new Z Flip phones expected, with the latest Samsung has to offer for clamshell-style foldables.
The Galaxy Flip 7 is the flagship model set to arrive with bigger screens inside and out, while the Flip FE is the first ‘fan edition’ foldable from Samsung and will likely offer a similar set of specs and features to the Galaxy Z Flip 6 at a cheaper price than the Flip 7.
Galaxy Watch 8 series

Jon Mundy / Foundry
New flagship wearables in summer is a common theme for Samsung and there are two Galaxy Watch 8 models expected .
The regular Galaxy Watch 8 as well as the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic , which is the first Classic model since the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, because Samsung likes to refresh this on a two-year cycle .
Both are expected to get ‘squircle’ design language inspired by the original Galaxy Watch Ultra.
Galaxy Watch Ultra 2

Mike Sawh
This leads us nicely on to the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 , or possibly the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025 if Samsung decides to use the year instead.
It was thought that Samsung might wait longer than a year to refresh this smartwatch, but it’s looking likely that it will make an appearance at Unpacked in July.
Rumours have been ramping up, including a leaked image of the device. However, if true, it looks exactly like the Galaxy Watch Ultra but in a blue colourway so Samsung better have some less obvious upgrades somewhere.

Android Headlines
Galaxy G Fold (tri-fold)
We originally put this in the ‘not launching’ section with a caveat that it could get a teaser at the end of the keynote rather than a proper unveiling.
Since then, it looks more likely that Samsung’s upcoming tri-fold, thought to be named the Galaxy G Fold, will indeed make an appearance at Unpacked .
It still feels likely that it’s on the teaser side of things as it’s rumoured to be arriving in October.
One UI 8, Project Moohan & Galaxy Buds
If Samsung devices to squeeze anything else in, we certainly would expect it to be on One UI 8 , the next major version of Samsung’s operating system which will roll out to phones, tablet and wearables as a free upgrade. It’s currently in a beta form.
There’s also Project Moohan , Samsung’s Android XR headset, which the firm may have more news on, having shown it off throughout 2025.
We could also see some new wireless earbuds launch, with possible models including the Galaxy Buds Core or Galaxy Buds 3 FE.
What we don’t expect to see at the next Unpacked
While there’s a lot coming at Unpacked, there are a few devices you shouldn’t hold your breath for (though never say never).
The Galaxy Tab S11 series of tablets is unlikely. Samsung used to launch them in July but moved the launch to September for the Galaxy Tab S10 series. We’d expect that to carry on in 2025.
We also don’t expect any new Galaxy A phones. The Galaxy A56 , A36 and A26 are all on the market already and the Galaxy A17 – the cheapest of the lot – is likely to arrive in October, away from an Unpacked.

Dominik Tomaszewski / Foundry
On the wearable front, we’re still waiting for a successor to the Galaxy Ring , Samsung’s popular smart ring . It was originally announced in January 2024, then fully launched in July of the same year.
It’s due a new model going by a 12-month refresh cycle but it’s a first-gen device, so we don’t know how often Samsung plans to replace it, plus there have been a lack of rumours on it in 2025.
This, and an educated guess/gut feeling, put it in the ‘coming later’ pile. However, Samsung does like a good teaser so we could hear something about the Galaxy Ring 2 even if it’s just a tidbit. After all, the original Galaxy Ring took us all by surprise.
