It appears Xiaomi’s next uber-flagship smartphone , the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, is mere weeks away from becoming official and it’s been shown off in a hands-on video.

After the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro were unveiled in October, we’ve been (im)patiently waiting to hear more about Xiaomi’s range-topping Ultra model. Now it’s February and things are starting to hot up.

What will the Xiaomi 15 Ultra look like?

Alongside the aforementioned poster leak, a brief video has emerged that seems to show a user going hands-on with the Xiaomi 15 Ultra (via Gizmodo China ).

It offers only a couple of seconds of fairly amateurish footage, but it certainly appears to be the genuine article, offering a good look at the phone’s monstrous new quad-camera set-up.

It also appears that the rear cover is no longer vegan leather but another material which looks smooth and matt. We assume this is the black colourway.

Do we know anything about the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s spec?

According to previous leaks, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s camera system will be led by a 1-inch 50MP Lytia LYT-900 sensor, with a 4.3x 200MP Samsung HP9 periscope telephoto and a more ‘normal’ 3x 50MP Sony IMX858 telephoto backing it up. The system will be rounded out with a 50MP Samsung JN5 ultrawide.

Elsewhere, we’re hearing that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite, which can currently be found powering the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and the OnePlus 13 , among other 2025 flagship phones.

Around the front, rumours suggest that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be packing a 6.8-inch 2K AMOLED display that curves away right at the edges. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra display performed a similar trick, albeit on a slightly smaller 6.7-inch canvas.

Why should you be excited about the Xiaomi 15 Ultra?

Last year’s Xiaomi 14 Ultra was so good at taking photos, our Reviews Editor called it “the best smartphone for photography, bar none” with the tag line “Ditch your DSLR”.

He also praised its vegan leather design, 90W fast charging, and top-notch performance. Make no mistake, it was one of the best flagship offerings of 2024, if you could manage the whopping £1,299 price tag.

We’re rather excited about what Xiaomi has to offer in the follow-up, and it appears we only have around three weeks to wait for it.

When will the Xiaomi 15 Ultra be unveiled?

Also spotted by Gizmochina, is a poster that has leaked online. It appears to point to a February 26 launch date for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.

If accurate, the announcement would seem to be set to take place in China at 7pm local time.

As for availability, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra made an appearance on February 22, 2024, so we doubt Xiaomi will wait too long after its February 26 unveiling to release the 15 Ultra.
