- Xiaomi 16 specs posted to X
- Similar display and camera to Xiaomi 15
- Huge 7,000mAh battery
Specifications for the forthcoming Xiaomi 16 flagship smartphone have leaked online, and there’s one particular spec that should have its rivals worried.
Xiaomi will likely be announcing its new flagship smartphone line-up in October, and the leaks and rumours are really starting to flow forth.
Earlier in the week we saw alleged images of the Xiaomi 16 Pro Max , while today brings news of the baseline Xiaomi 16 , which will likely be taking on the Google Pixel 10 Pro .
Established tipster Yogesh Brar has taken to X (formerly Twitter) to reveal a list of core specifications for Xiaomi’s new compact flagship.
The presence of a 6.3-inch 1.5K LTPO 120Hz display is in keeping with the Xiaomi 15 , as is the provision of an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. Also familiar is the camera spec, which features a trio of 50MP sensors and a 32MP selfie cam.
Elsewhere, it’s no surprise to learn of a generational performance upgrade courtesy of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 (aka the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5). Naturally, it’ll run on Xiaomi’s next custom Android UI, HyperOS 3.
One notable upgrade comes with the inclusion of an IP69 rating on top of the usual IP68 one.

But the biggest upgrade – albeit one we had already heard about – is reserved for the battery. This time around, it’s set to hit 7,000mAh – around 34% larger than that of the Xiaomi 15.
100W wired charging represents a slight upgrade on the Xiaomi 15’s already rapid 90W, while 50W wireless charging remains constant.
All in all it’s as we expected, but the stand-out spec by far is that huge battery. That alone should give the Xiaomi 16 major bragging rights over the Google Pixel 10 Pro and (we strongly suspect) the Samsung Galaxy S26 Pro .
