Yeedi’s new M14 Plus robot vacuum is one of the better looking models on the market. Does that matter much? In the grand scheme of things, perhaps not, although you definitely won’t need to hide it when people come over. What does matter, however, is that this robot performs well when vacuuming and mopping and needs very little attention from you.

Design and Build

  • Roller mopping
  • Attractive design
  • Base station has lot of functionality, including hot air drying

The Yeedi M14 Plus is a high-end robot vacuum that brings back the roller mop we appreciated in the S14 Plus model . It’s a big step up from the mop pad of early or budget robot models, and it has advantages over rotating mops, most notably that it pulls up dirty water and can be more effective on stains.

Both the robot vacuum and the base are white with rose gold accents. The base has rounded edges, giving it a more organic look than squared-off rivals. The water tanks are also nicely designed and allow you to get a good grip on them so you won’t drop them when moving them to and from the station.

The robot itself has the common disc-shaped design, with tons of sensors peppered along its side. These will recognise flooring type, help map the home, and efficiently navigate around obstacles.

There’s a touch button on top of the robot and a tiny plate that’s easy to remove to access the Wi-Fi button, the power switch, and the dustbin, for whenever you need to empty it yourself or take it out to wash it.

The underbelly of the robot is equipped with two large wheels, the roller mop, and a tangle-free brush. There’s also an innovative side brush that Yeedi calls ARClean. This single-prong design features two brushes, with the aim of enhancing cleaning performance and avoiding hair tangling.

The base station hosts the water tanks on top, while the front plate hides the dust bag. The base comes with a self-cleaning plate that’s easy to take out for occasional maintenance.

Performance & Features

  • Powerful 18,000Pa suction power
  • New roller mop cleaning
  • New side brush design

To get started with the Yeedi M14 Plus, you have to set up the base and robot with all the accessories, which takes just a couple of minutes of your time. Then, just pull off the top plate on the robot to access the power button and the Wi-Fi button. Scan the QR code to download the Yeedi app and go through the steps to connect the robot to your network.

The app itself is simple to navigate, so you should be able to easily figure out what to do and how to control the robot. There are multiple cleaning modes to pick from, including vacuuming only, vacuuming and mopping simultaneously, and mopping after vacuuming (which is my favourite). The app also allows users to adjust suction power and water flow rate, as well as the cleaning speed. In some instances, you can even specify the number of cleaning passes you want the robot to make.

If you want to dive deeper into the robot’s settings, you can set up boundaries, edit the map to better divide spaces, add furniture, and so on.

The Yeedi app can be integrated with Alexa or Google Assistant, so you can use those for voice commands. Alternatively, the robot has its own AI assistant that you can use. Thanks to its strong suction power, the robot does a great job across all types of floors. It picked up dirt, hair, and whatever else was on the floors without issue.

I ran some tests to see how it would perform with coffee grinds and some white rice and it did surprisingly well. Frankly, I was curious about how the redesigned side brush would perform because three-pronged models can sometimes send larger debris flying everywhere.

I had no reason to complain as it was gentle enough not to scatter, even when it ploughed right through the centre of the mess. Yeedi claims the new shape makes this brush “anti-tangle” and I’d agree that it works. I didn’t have to remove any hairs from around the base of the brush, which is an issue I deal with regularly when testing other robots.

The Yeedy M14 Plus did a great job navigating the house, quickly mapping the area on its first run. It didn’t bump into things, gave my pets a wide berth, and only managed to get tangled up with a cable once. In its defence, the room was dark and the cable itself was black, so detection probably wasn’t performing at its best.

Bear in mind though that, during cleaning, the device can get fairly loud. You may not want to have it on the job while you’re in a work meeting.

As already mentioned, the Yeed M14 Plus comes with a roller mop. It’s definitely a more efficient way of cleaning floors than the budget mop plate that gets dragged around, and it has advantages over the rotating twin mops we’ve come to see in recent years. This isn’t the first Yeedi model to come with such a mop, and I appreciated its performance in the Yeedi S14 Plus model .

With the M14 Plus, however, I feel that it’s even better. While the applied pressure is the same, the roller extends to the side and I found that this one left fewer streaks on the floors. It performed well on muddy paw prints, a few dried-out drops of coffee that I didn’t immediately wipe up, and all the footprints left behind by guests when we hosted a barbecue.

While testing the S14 Plus, I had to go through trial and error to figure out how to replace the mop. But this model comes with clearer instructions on the bottom of the device, telling you exactly what steps to take to make it work. Basically, you’ll just need to go into the app, into the robot’s settings and scroll all the way down and find the button that will release or retract the mop.

The station isn’t just gorgeous to look at, but also extremely useful. The robot frequently returns to the station to empty out the dust compartment. The base also has loads of other jobs such as refilling and draining the robot’s water tank, washing the mops with hot water and hot air drying them when the job is done to minimise nasty smells. It even cleans its own base of leftover dirt.

Price & Availability

That’s a decent price for the product quality and cleaning level delivered by the Yeedi M14 Plus but we have tested models that deliver the same functionality and quality of cleaning for less.
